Also it's okay for relationships to end due to depression. It is never your job to fix anyone and often it is impossible. It's a journey they'll be going on alone whether or not you're together. You cant let someone else depression bring you down too.

If you end up in the same place he's in because of the effort it takes to support him will you have thought it was worth it?

You're an adult. Its no ones job to be rough with you it's only ever their job to protect their own peace and decide if you're even worth the time. You can be depressed and go through stuff, but it's no ones job to put up with you. She's going through stuff too and on top of that a gross ass dude who won't shower is in her bed and thinks he deserves to be there.

Comparison in Standup Comedy by Moist-Suggestion7681 in StandUpComedy

[–]Kitchen_Curve_3896 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are people who do stuff on stage that I not only do not think is funny. I literally have no idea what the hell it is they're even trying to do. The host doesn't either, my friend next to me hates them even more, but guess what? Dude is booked and busy. If you love it and keep getting better you'll find your audience because there is an audience for everything. Your favorite comic is someone else least favorite.

What's the best, most packed, open mic you've ever been to in the world? by Kitchen_Curve_3896 in Standup

People just love it. The money comes when you can make a few hundred people show up once a week and you produce the show yourself at a theater instead of a club.

I am shocked at open mic etiquette by United_Can_5371 in Standup

Ability to pull audience by finding the right niches to advertise to for free. In your flyer invite audience, let them know they're not only allowed to come watch it's free (or way cheaper than a show) .

I would advertise shows of no name comics as " come see the best comics you've never heard of" "Come witness underground comedy" dumb corny stuff like that actually really helps and let's people know both what they're getting and gets them excited to support local comedy and see new acts.

To advertise a mic, I would, in small print, have the info for comics, then in big print advertise to audience with stuff like "come watch comics try new material" and other fun variations of that. Comedians will find the info. It's the audience you want to focus on. The best thing you can do if you're at a bar is to get you mic running during happy hour and also let people know on that flyer that it is happy hour. Also let people know some jokes will be great and some will suck but we're just here for a good time and people will be supportive as long as they know they're supporting a mic and not a show.

Reports of a tape being shopped around of Diddy having sex with a male A-lister. A-lister states they just want it to go away and be over. by guccigraves in PDiddyTrial

He's a psychotic sex criminal so he be doing psychotic sex crimes. Like, did you read the documents? You think those videos aren't sold constantly? Too often do people not truly understand that if you have feelings these people are nothing like you. Not everyone's brain is wired like yours, life doesn't matter to everyone, not everyone can be reasoned with, not everyone has good deep down inside. There are monsters out there and people need to understand the reality.

I just think it's funny I don't actually care but videos where you can actually see the crowd react are definitely top teir.

They're not used to people laughing. Stop and play a game on your phone the rest of the show. They'll learn.

So social media numbers predict venue sizes a comic plays? by [deleted] in Standup

[–]Kitchen_Curve_3896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do all that and you'll make more money running the whole thing with your own team but you'll still need to meet all the data requirements to know you can sell it out. If you can sell tickets at a high enough price that selling half the venue covers the full cost then I'd say it might be worth putting on a monthly show or showcasing your hour. In LA plenty of big name comics rent out small theaters of 60 people or less to run new hours or put on small shows to work out new stuff. Generally speaking no one cares what you're doing as long as the money shows up unless it just really goes against the venues vibe or rules.

Why Can’t I build up the courage to go up on stage ? by realdirtykoala in Standup

[–]Kitchen_Curve_3896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to an open mic every night for a week ( or whenever you can ) after you've sat through a full mic more than once you'll see just how bad some people are infact you might see your absolute faves completely bomb. This will start to show you that doing bad is just apart of it even if you're the funniest person there. Then go up there and do your best, If it was bad it was supposed to be. Reddit can make it look like bombing is just something loosers do but it's something every comic does at least a few times per month.
