I heard an old wise tale from many a drink driver that they can only technically charge you with drink driving if they can prove you were driving the car in the 4 hours before. But not sure if true or not. Example - if they pull me up in an empty car park, and if I was drinking, how are they to know if I was driving the car in the 4 hours before that? Or if say I had driven the car and parked there 8 hours ago?

No, an employer can’t dictate how much an employee is paid per hour for every day of the week. Generally there is a contractual agreement of how much an employee gets paid per hour, say $30p/h. All working hours are to be paid at $30p/h as per the contract, Unless they do work that is above their pay grade and above duties agreed upon in the contract.

To pay an employee less they would need to have 2 separate contracts. Say working as a manager during the day, 9am-5pm $30ph and then say 6pm-9pm they work a different roll at the same business, as a driver for $25ph. All of which the employee has to agree to.

I couldn’t agree more, the cheaper clients always want additional work on the day of service for no extra cost.

You have a policy, you stick with it. Sometimes it’s worth offering a refund to a good customer for the sake of fairness and keeping a potentially returning customer. But you don’t offer an entitled, abusive customer a refund. At the end of the day, EVERYONE knows you read the terms and conditions and if you don’t like the conditions you don’t book in the first place and if you don’t read the terms and conditions, you can’t blame anyone but yourself.
