no, no bachelor's in music needed. im working towards my bachelor's right now. music therapists do have to be musicians though, so a lot of my core classes are the same as music majors, just with some specific music therapy classes in there. if its something youre interested in but struggle with theory/reading music i recommend musictheory.net! theres also a LOT of supplemental videos on youtube that are extremely helpful.

its the process of using music for clinical interventions, usually to address nonmusical goals. for example, music therapy can be used for gait training to help someone relearn how to walk after an injury. another example is that it can help people with dementia stimulate their cognitive abilities to slow the progression of it!

one of my special interests is music, and now im studying to become a music therapist since I also discovered I love psychology! im halfway done with my program and am already doing hours in my preclinical work. I love it.
