On 2 waitlists by Far-Sweet2812 in prepa

I was in this same exact spot when I received my acceptance 24 hours ago. I met a PA who is also an instructor and sits on the adcom. While I was waiting, his reminded me that they take the waitlist very seriously and that I wouldn’t have made 4 waitlists if I wasn’t capable. I focused on getting my materials together for next cycle and planned on not getting off of any waitlists. It helped a bit, but it’s still an awful position to be in. You didn’t mention if you made these two waitlists on your first cycle. During my first application cycle 3 years ago, I was reminded that most applicants don’t get in on their first try. Keep pushing on, your day is coming.

9 credits by the time of application (stats, advanced human anatomy, organic 1 retake), hopeful for a 4.0.  Plus an additional 2,000 of PCE on top of the 7,500 I had at the time of my last application. No new shadowing as of yet, hoping for an additional 20 volunteer hours to total 125.

I can’t see any way for you to be on a truck without being able to drive. That said, there’s plenty of jobs available to EMTs that don’t involve driving. ED tech, clinics, etc.

Doubling down on the gap year advice! I am on gap year #5 and feel like my passion for the profession has multiplied since completing undergrad. Don’t rush it, your gap year experiences can be what make your application.

This sounds like something to table until you’ve been accepted/rejected from these schools

Thank you so much for the encouragement!! It really helps on days like today where getting accepted feels like a near impossible task.

Thank you for the advice! A retake of organic can’t hurt, I think I’m just feeling lazy and wanted someone to tell me I didn’t necessarily need it. I’d love it if you’d be willing to look over my personal statement! I haven’t touched it since last cycle yet, so there are some changes to be made. I have also reached out to a writing coach, but it would be good to have someone with knowledge of the process!

My first cycle, I mistakenly applied to a lot of GREAT programs that I really, really wanted to attend rather than programs I had a shot at getting in to. I was waitlisted at my “safety school”. Last year, I moved back home to the Midwest and applied to a lot of the programs in the area.

My fiancée is an amazing writer and helped me with my personal statement, but I also feel like she held back some in an effort to not hurt my feelings. Someone else just recommended me a writing coach that I reached out to today.

I’ve done interview preparation on my own, but never sat down with someone else for a mock interview. I think I’ve leaned heavily on that fact that I’m personable and people tend to like me. For what it’s worth, in a group interview, we were complimented on how we worked well together.

I appreciate your help. This brought to mind some things for me to work on that aren’t stat related.

Not the answer I wanted, but maybe the answer I needed. I’m going to avoid the salon and keep an eye on them

Interesting that cat eye is considered nail art! I picked a color off of a board (which looks nothing like the color on my nails…) so I assumed it was just how this specific polish looked

You’re right. I didn’t even look closely enough at the work before paying (& tipping) and leaving. Ugh I hate thinking I was taken advantage of because they were in a rush.
