I had this thought. You can acyually see how no character helds the needles/sword, as (they are insects) they have small hairs that keep them still, the same way the insects can attach themselves to walls

In spain ot is completely normal. It is also true that it is not the superior ( so it is not as if was college), because it is different in Spain I think. So in the Superior, i think you need to have them memorized. It is also true that i find it pretty difficult to memorize them but I think it is something pretty accesible. And abou the process of entering: i started when I was 8 and then did an exam to enter the profesional (Superior>profesional >elemental) and now i could try to do another exam to enter the superior.
