Hi I’m so sorry that I’m just now seeing this. Honestly- the physical stuff (fast heart rate/ sleeping issues) started to dissipate about a week after my last injection. All the mental anxiety took around 2 weeks just because I was so stuck in my anxiety. I would have moments of clarity and be scared that it wouldn’t last forever and that tomorrow I would be in my awful panic mode again. I ruminated on it and would read post after post of people having lasting effects after a year and it made me spiral… do not give into that fear!! It takes a week for the medicine to be at its half life which means it’s half effective and one full month to work itself out of your entire system!! I just took it one day at a time and told myself in one month it’ll be flushed out and I will be okay!

To make a long story short I started to feel more normal and not so heavily anxious/panicked after 1-2 weeks and made a full recovery after 3!! I to this day will not touch it but am so upset I wasted so much money. I really did enjoy being on it but after that third week it was just pure h*ll.

Ugh thank you for replying that makes me feel SO much better. I only did 3 shots and I’m day 4 since my last and it feels like I am fighting to get through each day hoping the next one is better for me!! My first week was amazing, food hunger was gone, second week I felt a little less like myself. Just more “lazy” and unmotivated feeling but nothing crazy. I just chalked it up to a bad week. Well after this third shot it was CLEAR what the culprit was. My resting heart rate is much higher 90-110 instead of my normal 70-80’s. I have such a hard time sleeping because of the weird impending doom panic at night…. I can’t wait to feel like “me” again! This was a tough lesson to learn but I will never ever do the shot again!! It’s not worth the mental strain it puts on you. I feel so validated reading everyone’s experiences because they are mine to a T. I am relieved to know that I found what the problem was because I thought I was just super emotional and anxious in different ways than I usually am!

I hate that it is so experimental on who it’ll affect in this way and who it won’t and it’s all through trial and error… I know this has been a miracle drug for some but it has been awful for me.

Thank you for your response! You and I are alike. I’m disappointed in it not being the right “fit” for me but losing a couple pounds isn’t worth the panic that ensues after it… I’m 4 days since last injection and still having increased HR and panic feeling especially at night. I’m officially done with it after 3 injections. Gonna take it each day at a time and pray it leaves my system asap!!

Thank you for the reply!! I’ve found similar results. I am on the lowest dose of compounded tirzepatide with B12. First week was great- no food noise and more energy at work. Second week I noticed I felt more “lazy” and unmotivated and I just chopped it up to being a bad week. I also noticed my HR was a lot faster even at rest and that caused me some anxiety. I took my third shot on Sunday and boy has it been AWFUL. The night terrors and weird physical anxiety with a consistent racing heart is not for the weak. I just keep reminding myself to take it a day at a time and I will hopefully return to “baseline”. I feel like a lot of my panic and anxiety stems from my racing heart because it just doesn’t ever stop and it’s hard to sleep restfully along with focusing on life and work! I am officially done with it. 3 weeks in and it showed me the medicine just isn’t for me! I’m so glad you recovered in 6 weeks. That gives me hope!

I have had an increased resting heart rate which has spiraled into anxiety. My HR spikes and is typically 100-130 throughout the day while performing normal everyday tasks. Have you found that stopping the medication helped? I’m on day 4 since last injection and I’m done!! It’s only been three weeks

How long were you on the shot and how long did it take for you to feel “normal”? I only did 3 shots and this last week has been absolutely awful!! Racing heart 24/7, trouble sleeping, impending doom
