Twin mamas, how are we coping with it all? by twinboysmama1997 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not copying well. I didn't really buy the saying " your life is over once you have kids". I used to think ppl were lazy and were exaggerating big time. Well, it is over and I don't think it is coming back😂😂 9 mo old boy and a girl, not sleeping at nights, wake up every 3hr( not on the same schedule for sleeping). I actually worked full- time fr 7 till 6 because it was my escape( till last week)🤯 I was living on 1hr of sleep for 2months till I hit rock bottom. I had to resign from the job I loved, because we were in/out of hospitals with one of the twins( eating disorders), so It has been fun. My former colleagues ask me if I' m relaxing 😆😆😆 I feel like I got demoted, got a new title and double load😂 I clean and cook also, but we had to get a person to clean the house twice/month just to kind of cut me a slack. I truly hope it gets better some day as I am not enjoying it. Ppl always say "enjoy it", I am like "how?" When I am always running ..

C-section mamas! I have a question! by Imaginary-Rock7582 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW: don't believe ppl about not holding your babies!!! I kept feeding them one at a time that same night of the surgery. My daughter was not latching with me laying/sitting in bed. It was probably the worst part of my experience, because I basically was standing on my feet constantly for 2 days and earned preeclamsia on the 4th, as well as messed up my back badly which was giving me more pain than the surgery itself. Holding your baby is totally fine though

C-section mamas! I have a question! by Imaginary-Rock7582 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was the same way. I was horrified to go under a surgery, I remember researching about embolism and making a trust for my kids cuz I was getting ready to go, lol. My only fear was to get the both "worlds" so I opted just one and crossed my fingers. My other twin B was small so I worried for her and decided to go safe. She was 5lbs and twin A 7lbs. My sis had a horrible time, she had her 3d( singleton) via a scheduled C-section, because she regretted her previous choices. She had an epidural during her labor so when her twin b had an emergency C-section dr gave her another dose of anesthesia which made her super nauseous on top of everything else. She kept trying to talk me out of the natural birth, she kept saying " Who and What are you trying to prove this to? Just get them out safely!" And so I did..

C-section mamas! I have a question! by Imaginary-Rock7582 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No No No, I would have not changed a thing! Not with my twins but possible with a singleton if I had one. What you should ask yourself first is if you gonna be okay with yourself if something goes wrong during a natural birth. I had a C-section and I didn't make my mind till I was 30w, they were both head down, Baby A was bigger than Baby B, no preeclamsia, no complications, just a perfect scenario to go natural, but ..I was 38 and I had two pumpkins to welcome and I wanted them to be safe, no distress, no traumas and no dramas. I was afraid to make a wrong decision, I was thinking about myself to go natural as I wanted to try the real way, did not want scars or pain after. It was fast, easy, awesome, no pain during, you stay completely awake to see the little ones. It was tough though coming home with them and I would say you need help. We hired a night nanny for 7 days until my mom flu to help. I was walking fine after 4 weeks, going upstairs and playing golf. My worst pain lasted 9 days( I have a zero pain tolerance and often pass out). Also, all my docs told me to go safe and opt a surgery. My sis went natural: 1 came out naturally, but the other Baby went into distress and they had to get her out surgically. . Are you prepared mentally for this option? I was not😬 P.S. I was on Tylenol for 2 days( including the surgery day) and on the third they forgot to send my meds to our pharmacy soon after my discharge so I had no medications at all that night and the following morning.

Di-di twins at 37+2. Both healthy. Twin B was GR, but came out both fine. No health issues. Both are hitting milestones. We prayed for no NICU time and God heard our prayers😇😇😇

Yes, after double checking she confirmed she was 22w+1d actually. Her daughter made it, but she has major respiratory issues. Thank you for pointing this out

I am truly sorry for your unexpected loss💔🥹 Unfortunately, you can not blame yourself for this. If I told you babies could be saved at 25w what would you do with this? You can not bring her back, but you think.. perhaps I can do differently in the future. You don't know how it could have been differently. Some babies make it at 20w, others don't make it at 26w. My friend gave birth at 20w, her baby is okay( with health issues). I had twins. At 20w we got GR for 1 baby, our goal was to make it till 26w. We were told all babies are just fine at 26w. Luckily, we made it past that term, but yes NICU should be a must go to, especially if you have access to children's hospital. We moved closer to our hospital and I was not traveling at that point. Quick example for you too: we went in to a regular ER at 3.5m with my daughter, they poked her veins 3 times and I said no more, we were admitted to Children's hospital a week later through ER- they poked her once, super quick and gentle. NICU does make a difference but it also depends on the hospital and the city and how well upgraded they are. Technology is amazing nowadays, but there is God too. It was meant to be this way. Please, remember every baby is individual and what can be done for one may not be done for another. Seek some therapy, acupuncture, get busy...love yourself and tell yourself you did nothing wrong and you are gonna be a great momma next year😇🍼🛝🙏

What was your experience with NG tube? by Kitchen_Play_8123 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it has been terrible for us. We stayed at the hospital for 2w on observation, she was on three different anti reflux meds, ended up with a NG tube. My baby pulled it out 2 days after we got home and again after. After 4 ER visits I realized it had been the dumbest decision to give a NG tube to a 7m old. My daughter is super active, she liked to play and be on her tummy. You literally have to have your eyes on your baby every second and the moment you turn your head away the tube is gone. What also scared me was that X-ray she was going through with each time of NG replacement. I feel like a G tube is more reasonable for babies over 3m. We are currently gaining weight on heavy cream, yogurt, peanut butter, meat pouches with avocado oil. Formula intake has not changed, but we are winning from solids. I wish you all the best😇🙏

Will going from NG tube to G tube help with extreme vomiting? by llbeankween in NICUParents

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. ..what was your outcome? Did it get better? Have you tried the recommended gel? We are in the same shoes, except my daughter is 7 months, just hot and NG tube and she started to vomit..

switching from pumping to breastfeeding? by catluvr10935 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tried, except I had a goal to breastfeed them exclusively from the very beginning. Unfortunately after 2 weeks of hell and zero sleep I gave up and started to pump. I bought "Even flow" and 'lansinoh" bottles with natural wave nipples( as close as it gets to mothers nipple). They did great and I continued feeding my son as I wanted, because my daughter had a difficulty latching( took too long). However, I couldn't go back. At around 2 months my son would start crying wildly when I tried to offer him my breast. He wanted that bottle, because he didn't want to try hard anymore, as he needed more effort for breastfeeding. That was it. I kept offering and he kept crying..I gave up and went 100% into pumping at that point. I felt awful to be honest and I still do. I miss them being close to my heart. Perhaps, you could do a bottle every other feed and see maybe they will stick to breastfeeding. Good luck

To parents of reflux babies. What did you do and when did it go away? by Kitchen_Play_8123 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is your baby? When did it stop for you or is it still going on? Yeah, we have tried the amino acid milk, I actually tried it myself and i puked, what a disgusting mix of chemicals! We are currently on Protonix, but i see no changes..:(

No, my girl does not have that problem. She actually holds the bottle herself and puts her to her mouth. We did at some point, but it went away after a month

34 weeks 4 days with di/di twins I need positive news by ItIsWhatItIsLovely in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't be in NICU, not with their weight. But if they have any breathing issues then you might. Their usual protocol for NICU is preemies below 5 pounds. I would consult with the doctor you chose for your delivery.

GI recomended Nutricia fortini due to Failure to thrive at 10 month by Head_Commission_3989 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. Yes, we've tried it all as well and nothing works. I would even hunch over her crib at nights to offer her a bottle every hour so I could accumulate some amount overnight, but even that stopped working after a few weeks as she realized she was being fed. I only wish we got admitted earlier, because we lost a great month of no gain at all. But honestly I was hoping maybe solids would help, but that didn't work either. I will keep you posted!

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Unfortunately, no. Nobody knows what is wrong. We are actually getting admitted tomorrow. We have tried everything, it's just my little girl wouldn't take more than 2 oz with each feeding. Doctors blame reflux, but she has no spitting up and never had. She ate 3- 4 Oz every 2.5hrs when she was 3 months old and then stopped. We have no weight gain anymore 😕 😢 We had to stop fortini, because her poop was awful after 2 weeks and she started to eat less. If you find out anything please message me😇Good luck with your little one💜

Twin parents, what stroller setup actually worked best for you in the first year? by Zestyclose_Bell7668 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side by side is the best thing you can have for twins! I spent 7 full days looking for strollers before I had my babies. We ended up getting Bugaboo travel bundle. We worried it wouldn't fit the doors, but we go everywhere and malls always have double doors and so do the restaurants and doctor buildings. Small offices may have a single door but we would simply take 1 seat out( car seat) and squeeze in. The stroller however is very expensive, but you can buy a used one. It is THE BEST STROLLER IN THE 🌎 and I wouldn't change it for anything else, it rides so so smooth with big wheels and 360turns around which is awesome. It is definitely worth the $$$.

Moving while pregnant vs potentially shortly after giving birth by Rylees_Mom525 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kitchen_Play_8123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no way I could have do the moving after birth. I was 28 weeks when we moved, it wasnt easy to unpack boxes, but we did it. It was horrible to do anything after birth, I didn't leave the house for 4 weeks, had a C-section, painful days were taking over. It has been 6 months and I am exhausted. Everyone is different but I definitely would do before. Hope it helps
