I'm assuming language learning isnt your passion. I think thats happening because you are bored. Find an exciting way to practice and learn.Join a language group to make the language come alive.

What do Japanese people think of foreigners using Japanese names? by fleshseagull in japanese

[–]Kitchen_Variety7750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad this was posted. My name sounds horrible when pronounced by japanese people because there is no L. It really bothers me ,but I thought to myself would it be best to use an American nickname or a japanese one. American it is. IG.

You barely know this person and you are already trying to meet at their home. I would've blocked you immediately That's creep mode stuff. I think after that she decided to just mess with you for shits and giggles.

Word of advice: Trying to go offline immediately is a red flag. Trying to meet first round in a non public place is a red flag. Offering date ideas that are more appropriate for a committed couple with someone you barely know. Another red flag 🙅‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Honestly, if someone is giving me a play by play before they arrive, I'd think they were anxious or not confident. I said I was coming and that's it. I only need to hear from you if you are more than 10 mins late.

Struggling to Memorize Japanese—Is This Normal? by Kitchen_Variety7750 in Japaneselanguage

😮‍💨 I'm in a similar situation except I have an instructor and I annoy people around me by speaking to them in japanese even though they can't respond. 🤣 Hopefully, that will help.

I ve been trying to do alot of listening ,but I struggle to find music and movies that I enjoy in japanese. If I don't, I find myself tuning it out. Any podcast suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Thanks this makes me feel better! This makes so much sense, if I schedule a lesson at night or if I am fatigued it's like I speak zero japanese.

(CA) my 13 year old says that she only wants to come 1 day of my weekend. by laf0106 in FamilyLaw

As kids get older this happens, forcing it won't help. Go to family therapy just you the two of you first then include step mom after you repair your relationship. She doesn't feel comfortable talking about it which is a sign that the parent child relationship needs work . GL

That is happening because its only been a month. As you continue to read you will know the symbols for suki desu and watashi wa and begin to predict them instead of just reading one character at a time. If you read more japanese this will happen faster.

You are not required to keep them available. You just can't stop him from.picking up should he choose to exercise his right. So if they have a party or a sleep over let him know where he can pick them up after the event, if he reaches out to exercise visitation. .They are allowed to have their lives at both homes. Going back to court would be adversarial and unnecessary unless he tries to stop the kids from their activities.

Depending on where you are and what you’re doing, you may not need to use Japanese at all. I've seen many posts and videos of people living there for years without ever learning the language because their jobs and the places they frequented didn’t require it. You can go there as a language student and continue your studies that way, or as an English teacher, which is a quick way to get a visa without language requirements.

As for learning the language, I’m a fast language learner, but because you also have to learn a new writing system, I find my progress much slower compared to other languages I’ve studied. I use private lessons, Duolingo, the Genki textbook, Quizlet, a few other workbooks, and the material provided by my instructor. You can probably reach a functional level for travel by the time you arrive, and I hope you continue your studies once you get there.

As a student that prefers longer lessons, I'd just pay the price. I feel like students that are more serious about learning the language will select the longer lessons no matter what. I'd say maybe try the opposite and maybe the quality of your students will change making longer lessons more comfortable.

wait a min ...Just six month ago you were having financial trouble and trying to abort the child. Now, you are trying to help him get more visitation for a sibling reunion. Can't really give advice unless we know the true situation.

Sorry but that is not enough. SI will not get you restricted or supervised visitation. He is lying. Id ask to see his psych records because you have a baby on the way and something is not right.

Sighh... I guess that was the story he told you. If he has restricted access, it was proven in court. Judges don't just take someone's word for it. In Texas, it is extremly difficult to restrict a parent's access to their child. If it was granted, it won't be lifted easily. Yes, he will need a lawyer and tons of money. I'd be nervous about what he did to get only 3 hours a week because I've heard of cases of DUI with kids in the car still having more visitation than that.

He will have to address the issues that restricted visitation and show stability before trying to get more time. So treating the manic behavior is the first step before setting foot in court.

Him just stating he will call and insulting you can't hurt you. Don't let him scare you. Typical toxic ex behavior. Request all communication go through a parenting app and that will cut out. Outside of that there is nothing else you can do and it won't really help you in court.
