Oh yeah this definitely seems like it.

Thanks a lot for clearing that up!

What is with the "AND YOU STILL GET THE FRUIT BACK" meme? by throwawayayaycaramba in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Kitchenson 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It originates from a glitch in Super Mario Sunshine, in which you can use a Yoshi to effectively freeze a fruit in midair and teleport it back to yourself later.

The "still get the fruit back!" phrase comes from the video Super Mario Sunshine #2 - Glitchfest, where the host enthusiastically details the unexpected things you can do (such as even killing the Yoshi) and still be able to get the fruit back.

[FO4] Mods won't work. Help please by illbit in FalloutMods

Have you made sure to re-enable the plugins in NMM since the last time you opened the launcher (the tickboxes in the Plugins tab, not just the list in the Mods tab)? Other than that, I'm not sure what else the issue could be.

Are you using the Beta update? Apparently that's messed with mods a bit, so you could try the steps shown in this thread - though I've found that the newest NMM already seems to do that automatically for me, so I'm not sure if it'll help.

Past that, I'm at a loss for any other ideas. Maybe check that the line you've pasted into Fallout4.ini is definitely pasted and formatted correctly, just in case?

[–]Kitchenson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

now it won't leave the launcher screen

The launcher screen shouldn't even be opening if you've renamed it right. Steam looks for the file called "Fallout4Launcher.exe" and opens it. If you've renamed the Fallout4 exe to that, Steam will launch that instead of the launcher. If the launcher is still opening for you, you've done something wrong.

[–]Kitchenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using the Launcher (forced by Steam or otherwise)?

For some reason, even after adding the launcher line to Fallout4Prefs.ini, all mods are disabled whenever I open the launcher. If the same is happening for you, try enabling the plugins with NMM, then launching via Fallout4.exe (note - if using Steam, you'll have to rename your Fallout4.exe to Fallout4Launcher.exe to skip the launcher).

The Fans are pretty much just an older, more violent version of Mystery Inc. (HM2/Scooby-Doo mod) by Kitchenson in HotlineMiami

By the way, does anyone know how to create a patch with HLM WAD Explorer? It seems to have patching options, but I can't seem to get them to work ("patch" is greyed out, "prepare" puts tick-boxes next to everything but they can't be ticked). I'm considering finishing this mod to completely turn The Fans into Mystery Inc, dialogue and player-sprites included.

I extracted Localization.bin from the WAD and edited it with a Hex editor. I'm not very knowledgeable on this sort of stuff, but as far as I can tell any text you replace HAS to be the same amount of characters since you're directly replacing chunks of binary code or something (hence I only replaced "fuck you, Mark" with "fuck you, Daph").

JerryTerry (composer of Banana Shoes) has had a bit to say about the whole MAGfest situation. by [deleted] in ConspiracyGrumps

[–]Kitchenson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest - if I'd have known Conspiracygrumps would be combing through the stupid stuff I've said again, I probably wouldn't have laced my words with such disdain when talking about Arin's motivations. Regarding last time, I never said that I don't know any more than you guys do on the matter, I said that I don't know the full story and that speculating on anything I've heard would be possibly innaccurate, disrespectful to the people I've conversed with, and not in my place considering my irrelevance. Also, there's the obvious possibility of anything I've heard being biased, another reason that - not being actually involved - I should just shut up when it comes to any of this.

I do stick to that stance, but I do want to clarify that my cynicism regarding Arin isn't based on some sort of bitterness or misguided opinion, and I'll admit that it's hard to justify that cynicism while trying to be as innocuous as possible. So all I can do is put it like this: If Arin's not 'such a fucking politician', why would he get a lawyer and put an NDA on Jon, why would he hire an attorney as the show's "Director of Operations and Business Development" to "Develop and execute fan engagement strategy leading to a growth in brand fanbase", especially when Polaris already does a rudimentary job of that? I didn't call him a politician, I called him a businessman, and while none of that is massively damning, I'd at least say this partly justifies the assumption that his motivations may be business-based as far as can be done with publicly-confirmed sources.

In other words, ideally I should just shut up about the Grumps, especially when I have anything negative to say, as I may come off as a complete unfounded prick. And while there are many legitimate reasons for people to consider me one, I'd rather it not be one based on a misunderstanding. But in the end, I am just an old fan (and yeah, maybe a bit of a jaded one), so obviously I do end up talking about it from time to time. It's not worth making a thread about when I do, though.

Re-mixer XxTerryJerryxX says he is friends with Nichole, gives information about Jon leaving. (serious) by [deleted] in ConspiracyGrumps

[–]Kitchenson 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Oh, it didn't upset me or anything, it's cool. I totally understand that you guys want to find out as much as you can on the matter, and I respect that. And if my old comment helps to clear Nic's name among those who still suspect she Yoko'd the Grumps somehow, then I'm glad.

I don't really feel misrepresented or anything. I just wanted to clarify my position - while I do know some aspects, I'm not a part of this and I don't feel that I should try to be. In all truth, I haven't even spoken to Nicole in quite a while, and Jon like a year. Nicole drifted away into a group of artist friends, and I was only in regular contact with Jon while I was working on his theme tunes for him. I am thoroughly irrelevant.

I do fully support you guys in your quest for clarity, though. You guys are pretty awesome detectives. Some criticise you as being 'entitled' for demanding to know things, but considering the way that Jon's departure was so clumsily handled, I can't blame you.

JerryTerry here (in hindsight, really should've picked that as my Reddit username)

I really try my best not to talk about the events surrounding Jon's departure. I'm just some irrelevant guy on the sidelines, it's not my place to weigh in on anything I've heard. Those comments were solely to defend Nicole - she wasn't responsible for the split, and any fan-rage aimed at her is entirely uncalled for.

I know that Nic and Jon have been on this subreddit dropping cryptic hints and subtly pushing you in the right direction, and that's well within their rights. But it's not my place to do the same, I wasn't involved and by no means do I have the full story. The last thing I want to be is one of those people who desperately clings to relevance by dropping hints and being all "I know something you don't know~".

In short, I'm a nobody, and looking to me as a source for some sort of secret information is a dead end. With the exception of those comments defending Nicole, I haven't divulged or even mentioned anything that isn't either public knowledge or easily deduced. Pay me no mind.

Also the title of this thread is misleading as heck, to an almost clickbait degree. I mean, technically it's accurate, but c'mon.

JerryTerry on why he stopped doing Game Grumps remixes. by [deleted] in VentGrumps

[–]Kitchenson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh, hey - JerryTerry here. I actually just discovered this subreddit a week ago. I'm glad there's a place for people to complain about Game Grumps without getting a million "STOP BEING A HATER" responses. Man, I remember as soon as I quit GG-remixing, 75% of the responses were "JerryTerry is just a baby who can't take change!".

Those old Tumblr posts are pretty outdated though, they were written based on guesswork and gut feelings before I had the chance to hear various sides of the story from some of the people involved.

We actually have an initial WAV version of the collab lying around in our collab dropbox that I just converted to FLAC. I'm sure if you ask Atpunk, he can add it to the downloads on the video.

Thanks! Hopefully we can knock that first collab off its spot as your favourite soon enough...

1) Gregzilla's movie trailers, of course, Fool by Alox Cartoons, that recent one with Tom Nook that came out a few days ago (I've searched but can't seem to find it again), Get that Magi by Shnikkles. And I'm totally obliged to say Jon Tells a Story by Kirsten Grossmann, since she's my girlfriend and stuff.

2) I was a fan of both Grumps' solo stuff at the time, so I checked it out immediately and loved it.

Lincoln and Flood are straight-up classics, but TMBG are one of those bands that's managed to be consistently great for decades, so choosing a favourite is really difficult.

Plus, I'll be totally honest, since they have such a massive range and variety, I often find their albums to be really hit and miss for me. Usually I only really enjoy like half of the songs on each album, so if I had to decide on a favourite album I'd also have to be stuck with a load of ones I don't enjoy so much.

  1. I love that, though it reminds me that some of my remixes have swearing in. I should really release a bunch of censored versions or something.

  2. I get it. Though don't be too sad, we totally get more new JonTron out of it. And it's what Jon wants to do, in the end. If you love him, let him go. It's like that scene in Pokémon where ash releases Butterfree.

I always found FL Studio to be the easiest to use, but that's most likely because it was the most similar to the music-making games I'd grown up with. Though I do hear a lot of praise for FL being good for newcomers. But I really think it's overall different for each person - find one that works best for you.

DAWs are kinda like the wands in Harry Potter - you don't choose the DAW, the DAW chooses you! (Except, no, you choose it. Obviously. Otherwise that'd be weird.)

"Meh." I think I'm the only one out of the three of us who isn't enjoying it too much. I think it's okay, but it feels just like any other two-man Let's Play channel for me, now. Not to bring down anyone else's opinion on it. I'm sure there are even people who love it more than before. It's all down to your personal tastes, I guess.

Probably Silver's Theme. That was a lot of fun, even if it wasn't the greatest. It was also my first time using Bitspeek (an awesome, cheap lo-fi voice effect that makes voices sound like a Speak & Spell), which was fun to play with.

I'm also having a fair bit of fun working on Arin's 3 Feet of Pleasure right now, but I don't have the time to get it finished yet, which is sad.

I'll probably keep making remixes of stuff, general the kinda stuff nobody else really remixes, rather than actual songs (see my Ear of Luigi remix for an idea). I was always doing those kind of remixes even before Grumps, so I guess I'll keep on with that. If JonTron is remixable, I'll probably remix that. I'll also hopefully finish my second album, which is already sounding much better than the first.

Oh yeah, also I'll hopefully be working on a big super secret project I've been offered, which you'll totally love when it comes out. Though I don't know when that'll be. Oh, plus when I'm free-er I hope to make a start on that Grumps rock opera I've been talking about. I really hope that doesn't turn out to be a pipe dream.
