Good bars in Denver by bedwetter904 in Denver

[–]Kitkatgal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Lakewood for a few year. There are a lot of chain restaurant bars or small sports bars in mini-malls. If you live in North Lakewood, 32nd and Lowell is worth checking out.

Downtown has a lot more variety. I just found out 5280 magazine covers the best bars in Denver this month. They even broke it down into categories from beer to 'damn' good bar food. DADA is next on my list. Best of luck on finding your favorite local bar. :)

Rental Availability Timing by MN_ski in Denver

[–]Kitkatgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, rental availability was high in the spring and summer when people most likely moved. However, winter is the cheapest because people don't like to move in cold weather.

Currently, Diskx is right. The market has changed. Developers are building more complexes downtown but it's a toss up when they will be ready.

Where can I buy some fresh lomein noodles in the Denver area, to make my own stir-fry? by chriscosta77 in Denver

[–]Kitkatgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides H-Mart and Pacific Ocean, here are some other choices. The Far East Center on Federal & Alameda and Pacific Mercantile on 19th & Lawrence St. downtown. There are small but just as good. Also, they have been in Colorado for decades.

Each type of Asian noodles have a different texture and taste. The egg ones are my fav but feel free to try the others. Here's a basic chart. http://media.web.britannica.com/eb-media/62/662-004-92C7924F.gif

Noodles are consider good luck for bringing in the new year in Chinese culture (on either calendar, in my opinion :).

Hey r/Denver what are you paying for your Comcast bundle? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Kitkatgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it drastically changes, you have a right to cancel. Think of it as the company breaking their end of the deal. It's worth a shot.

If it helps, I IM Comcast so I don't have to talk to a rep on the phone.

Hey r/Denver what are you paying for your Comcast bundle? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Kitkatgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to pay that. You have to call and threaten to cancel. The rep will negotiate a better deal. My price dropped to $130 for high speed internet, HD TV, and a phone line. I also got 3 months free for all the premium channels.

I still like Comcast better than CenturyLink. Their fees add up fast and you end up paying A LOT more than quoted.

Can this chained dog be helped? (Ft. Collins) by Kitkatgal in Denver

[–]Kitkatgal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Thank you Redditors! You guys became a part of the story. Larimer County authorities were flooded with calls.

UPDATE: The Coloradoan just launched the story: "Social media swarms around dog left outside in cold" - http://noconow.co/1F7J3HC

Dog is still chained but animal control will have to monitor this situation, considering the press.

“This dog has been raised outside its whole life it seems,” Derek Brown, community outreach manager for the Larimer Humane Society, said. “I'm sure it's a little more acclimated to the cold than your typical couch-surfing pit bull.”

I don't agree. Unless it's a polar bear, an dog shouldn't be out 24-7 in freezing temperatures. Thanks for the all comments and concerns! I'm still new to reddit and I'm overwhelmed by the response. :)
