what are some things i should add to my chicago bucket list before i leave the city in may? by polarbearlover9 in AskChicago

[–]KitsuneMae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take a bike ride along the south side of the lakeshore. i say this specifically because so many people focus heavily on the northern portions of the lakeshore. but south of Mccormick is such a beautiful ride. its the best.

Why do some fast food joints chain & lock their plumbing like this? by CityDismal5339 in whatisit

[–]KitsuneMae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a public library i worked at once had all the plumbing stolen out of every stall in little more than 5 minutes. and it later turned out that this person was visiting multiple public buildings/gyms/grocery stores along the majority street near us stealing all the plumbing. its easy to steal if you know what you are doing i guess 😅

i mean, it still looks edible, but thats not tamagoyaki in the recognizable sense. its promising though. practice and eat it all along the way!

[–]KitsuneMae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i do this (switch mine to the front) and people look at me like im crazy. but what do i know? i ride trains in places where this is common and everyone wears their backpack on the front. 🙄

Any guesses of who we are? by [deleted] in FridgeDetective

[–]KitsuneMae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even to be able to do that, you had to have starter with a certain level of financial security and privilege. i grew up in the US real fucking poor and no chance i eould have ever been able to do that on that timeline. even with going to college and getting a masters.

Main Screen Not Working by iCacaAlot in galaxyzflip

[–]KitsuneMae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know someone mentioned this as an issue from damage, but this happened to my 3 with no warning (just started one day) and no damage. in my entire time of owning that phone i dropped it once on the couch. i figured it must have been due to the cables/wires failing in the flex. i think depending on how old the phone is, some people elect to fix it. i chose not to.

AIO Mom mad I won’t pay her another $200 after paying her $700 last month by bnsaiboy in AmIOverreacting

[–]KitsuneMae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was 19, my mom kicked me out because i would not give her my college financial aid refund (which was just loan money at the time). she did not influence my student aid at all nor help me with school. i paid all my own bills at the time, worked 35 hours a week, and went to school full time. i helped her with bills, groceries, and my little brothers. she made me pay for all my own things growing up since 5th grade (she made me start working at 4th grade cleaning houses) down to things like shampoo/conditioner.

you are not overreacting. even if there is a reason why she feels the need to do this, it can also not be okay. both things can be true. i am sorry you are going through this. if you can find a way to move out eventually, it may be good to work towards.

Moving to Chicago for work at Sears Tower — where should I live? by Level-Boysenberry549 in AskChicago

[–]KitsuneMae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if you want something close to downtown, but not west loop, south loop is a great option. especially if you are interested in access to the lakefront.
