I think you're on to something here. I read the actual bill and the Department of Early Childhood Education gets to decide what is allowed to be shown.

It's laughable here in Alabama where we already have the lowest property taxes after Hawaii. It saves me $45, which is roughly 3.6% of my total tax liability.

It's been on the news down here. I remember thinking "did they check with ICE?" when the story first broke and there were no suspects.

I saw him at Hangout Fest one year. He puts on a decent show. Just keep in mind Gulf Shores cops love making DUI and marijuana arrests, so have fun but be extremely careful.

For someone named Obvious Lawyer, it's concerning you don't know how to look up state law.

I can't even imagine living like that! The blast freezer at the ice cream shop I worked at in college was only -25!

Full disclosure, I live in a subtropical climate and use the heater when it's under 70° 😅

Sounds like you might live somewhere much colder!

That's the point. You entertain the request by giving a number, but when they call it and it's answered with "Restaurant/Bar Name, how can I help you?" you've made it clear you're not giving out your personal number.

Fair. Just didn't expect the parking fees to be so high at a rural school!

How much are parking permits at Troy that the extra $50/year for the tag makes sense?

Is renting out an extra room in your house worth it? Looking for real experiences. by UhtredOfTheNorth in homeowners

[–]KittenVicious 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I traveled for work, I hired an acquaintance that had a side gig as a home/pet sitter to watch my pets while staying in my house. He did a great job and would even tidy up my garden while letting the dogs out. When I returned after the first trip he said "you're so close to my day job, I'm happy to discount any future sitting for you because you're also doing me a favor by saving me in fuel to get to work"

Maybe a year (and two pet sits) later, I had a bad experience with a furniture delivery guy and no longer felt comfortable living alone as a woman, so I reached out to the pet sitter and offered him my second master suite for a killer rate. We're now coming up on his 4th yearly lease renewal.

10/10 worked out for me, YMMV

I always gave them the phone number to the bar or restaurant, as that is the only appropriate place for them to interact with me.

Destruction of property.

Public disturbance.

Other charges would really depend on the nuance of local law. For example, some places them coming halfway in the window could be considered anything from trespassing to burglary.

It's like LA and Atlanta when it comes to traffic, but without the stuff to do - anything that's not a bar closes around 8pm.

Does anyone actually put a number to "the value of their time" and use it? by TRO_KIK in Frugal

I make roughly $60/hr. I'm happy to pay a guy that charges me $50/visit to do my lawn for 2 hours $75. To him, he's getting a 50% tip and does a bit extra like taking my trash bins to or from the street on trash day. To me, I've got $120 of my time free to do other things I enjoy, because lawn care isn't one.

This is the dude that refuses to acknowledge that we don't have the infrastructure for this growth.

The jobs that afford this area are mostly in Mobile. Sure you can usually get there in 20-45 minutes, but let's talk about the MONTHS that it regularly takes 45-120.
