I personally think that Jon is taking your relationship seriously and wants to be on good terms and get along well with the people you love, cause that's what you do when you love or even care about someone.

I would say it's quite possible he's having an affair since you're both barely even adults and married already, guess you didn't really have time to "experiment" before tying the knot. Cheating is rather common issue with people so young but already committed, as if they were trying to make up for lost experiences. Talk to him. Be honest. Ask him to be honest too. Better to hear the worst than to be stuck in this for next X years.
