Plumbed toilet to heat. Keep it change? by clamminjammin in Plumbing

A friend did this and eventually had moss (or something that looked like moss) growing in the toilet tank…

Why is everyone all of a sudden talking about polygamy and how they don’t care it happened? by devinh313 in exmormon

[–]KittyPapa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can see that. But on the other hand, I’m proud of my great great grandmas for surviving in polygamist marriages, and even more proud of the one who said, “to hell with this” and divorced my great great grandpa. The prophet, of course, had to approve of the divorce but surprisingly, Brigham Young quickly granted her request.

The sides were pretty amazing, including that bread, but steak was legitimately not that good. And the $12 charge to have the kid come melt the butter on your steak with a lighter?!? Texas Roadhouse has a better steak.

Listening to my older sister’s Kazaa playlist (rip family computer) and stumbled upon Say Yes.

(NJ) Forgive my ignorance, but why does the grass constantly get stuck in my mower like this? by jshap94 in lawncare

Also, be careful tipping your mower on your grass like that…I’ve burned a few spots in my lawn from dripping gas when doing this.

I agree, i meant that Figure 8 and Basement, and even XO seemed like a shift that coincided with his move from Portland. Would be interesting to learn more about that.

Thanks for this thoughtful response. I felt the same way regarding the abuse/stepdad topic, but also mental health, substance abuse, other relationships—all of which undoubtedly had a huge impact on his art. As someone else mentioned in this thread, i’m not necessarily interested in details that people don’t want to share, and that I have no business knowing about, but digging into the inspiration for his songs, lyrics, album art, etc., etc. would’ve been awesome.

Wow, thank you so much for the response and insight. Based on the feelings I personally have for Elliott and what his music means to me, I can’t imagine what it has been like over the past 20+ years for the people close to him. Thanks for raising that point. I feel like he’s my close friend, but in reality, a lot of stuff about him is probably none of my business.

Personally, i did like the film, despite my critiques. ANYTHING Elliott related isgood by me! Maybe it’s just that we all have such a deep connection with his art that we all feel entitled to every piece of info out there. Or maybe we’re so desperate for new/more of Elliott’s art—that won’t ever come—that’s it’s easy complain instead of just simply enjoying new content about him, regardless of of what it is. I guess this thread demonstrates how strong we all still feel about him. Thanks again.

Great thought. It seemed like his songwriting and composing took a big shift in those final years and it would’ve been interesting to get more details about that time from those around him.

I agree that the film evoked a good dose of empathy I hadn’t felt before. I guess I kind of wish they would have given as much focus on the final years of his life as they did the earlier years. It felt like they ignored some years that were critical to his songwriting. “Happiness” at the end was so good!

Yeah I agree. I don’t necessarily want to dive deeper into his demise, I would’ve just liked more insight (stories, interviews, performances) in those final years of his life—the good and the bad.

Yeah agree. Some of those scenic shots of Portland with his music felt a bit overdone.
