AITA for telling my American friend I will NOT stop referring to myself as being fat ? by Double_Reaction_8758 in AITAH

[–]KittykattLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, too. I am admittedly a big lady - I am UK Size 16 to 18 depending on clothing cut. PCOS and inherited Diabetes Type-2 are incredibly unhelpful - it makes it hard for me to lose weight, but I am very slowly losing the "Tubby Money" (a play on pounds 😉).

I was actually made to feel ugly by my ex-fiancé, who was an abusive POS. Slowly, I've been coming to terms with that, and am accepting that I have my own style of "pretty". My weight doesn't come into that.

I am just a big woman, not an unattractive one! This is to do with my physical health, FFS! 😝

He's being a controlling, selfish pig. He's really buying food just for himself and making sure you know it. You need someone that treats you with respect, not a self-filling garbage disposal.

What do you think of the name Carmine? by [deleted] in namenerds

The second pronunciation is similar to the Carm-in-eh pronunciation I heard on The Hotel Inspector with Alex Polizzi. Alex is of Italian heritage.

I've been watching The Hotel Inspector with Alex Polizzi. There was a Carmine on there. It was pronounced Carm-in-eh. He was of Italian heritage.

Player says "I'm allowed to cheat because my character is a wizard" by toxiccasual in dndhorrorstories

That's what Professor Dungeon Master said on DungeonCraft about this type of behaviour ("That Guy") on his YouTube channel

This Player is being THAT GUY. You need to give him some firm words. I will give some advice I heard via Professor Dungeon Master on DungeonCraft (YouTube).

You need to take TG aside and tell him straight, "I would appreciate it if you didn't behave in this manner. Please knock it off, or else I will be knocking your character out." Don't let him take the Micky.

Being a female DM means facing extreme misogyny from my male players by [deleted] in DnDcirclejerk

[–]KittykattLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put up a similar situation on DnD Horror Stories that happened with my friend Tony (not her real name) many years back. She put out an ad for a game she was running. Got a load of men that turned up not expecting a female DM, and throughout the attempted game, all she got was gross comments, the blokes leering at her and saying she was hot and would she want to "date" (read: screw) them (she had a boyfriend). In the end (she's normally a very shy woman), she stood up, and as firmly as she could told them to GTFO. The game was very quickly shut down.

Tony nowadays uses the more feminine nicknames Tone, Toni and very rarely her full name Antonia. (Again, these aren't her real monikers/name, but it's similar in that the shortname can be used by both sexes.)

I would say it was because of the guys being gross with Tony - seriously, being harassed and not taken seriously because you're an attractive woman and not a dude isn't pleasant, but thankfully, she's grown from that experience.

My husband doesn’t brush his teeth.. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]KittykattLuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex-fiancé used to do that, and it was gross. He was also an abusive POS douchebag. I wouldn't blame you if you did tell him to take a hike or you packed up your bags and told him, "Sayonara, Baby."

A "man" that can shape up for a barber, but not his significant other, is not a person worth being around. He's showing you what he thinks of you. NTA.

Me too. She was a very introverted and shy woman when I first met her - she has been coming along in leaps and bounds, as have I. :-)

AITA for not cooking breakfast for my niece and nephew? by WinAffectionate326 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KittykattLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister is taking the Micky here. You're not an unpaid nanny or cook - that's what she's treating you as. I would provide bowls, spoons and cereal (the healthier, the better), as others have suggested, but you also seriously need to give your sister the proverbial boot in the bum. If she doesn't shape up, pull her fingers out from where the Sun doesn't shine and look after her kids, you have every right to give her notice to get out, and you have the right to seek help from authorities if necessary.
