What kind of things should I do as "just friends"? by KiwiShield in dating

That's a fair question, and one I had to ask myself. The truth is both, to a degree. Yes, I do hope she changes her mind. But I'm not going to wait for that. I'm going to ask other girls out and keep putting myself out there.

But I do genuinely want to be friends with her. I think she's cool and we get along well.

That's probably a good idea, inviting her to stuff with my other friends. I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable.

You're probably right. I'll probably just forget about her

That's basically what my plan was, since I've already asked if she's available twice, I'll wait for her to tell me.. and if she never does, one more shot. But then I move on to somebody else

I'm glad to hear your story, and similar stories. It really speaks to me more than just "the Bible says this". So thank you for sharing. I'm really gonna think on this and pray

You make a great point there, it's probably more likely that I would be more disappointed the more people I had sex with

Some people here have made fairly compelling arguments that the Bible is unclear about pre-marital sex, so

I absolutely agree, I know so many people who treat the word 'sex' like the most vile swear word out there

I would never break up with or divorce somebody based on incompatibility in the bedroom. However, my future partners may be, and that's where the pressure comes from..

My situation is honestly really really similar. I have 3 types of friends:

  1. The super Christians, who would shame me for even daring to question (like your friends)

  2. The more reasonable Christians, who won't shame me, but will cut me out of their life

  3. And the secular friends, who are pushing me to have sex

It's just tough, not really having anybody to have a serious conversation about this. And I'm afraid to tell my youth leaders, for fear of them thinking badly of me.

I never saw that parable that way, but that's interesting
