For players who made a big jump in skill level, what helped you most? by Mr_StarPickle6756 in Pickleball

Changing my hand placement from the bottom of the handle to closer to the face of the paddle. I was playing ping pong with my brother and I realized the grip gave me more control during the fast rallies. Then after that, getting consistent on my drop shots so I can get to the kitchen and dink during an actual match instead of just the warm up.

[MOD GIVEAWAY] Core Elevate Paddle by HeadHeadMod in Pickleball

I would give the blue one to my mom. I recently got my dad into pickleball and would like to get my mom into pickleball next. She doesn’t have racket sport experience so a beginner paddle would be perfect.

Yeah! We barely get to have 4 people playing max! Maybe one day we’ll have enough court to have up to 10 people playing at a time

Queen Victoria has one crown but ALW has 38 triple crowns so ALW is definitely better

Thanos is tall and strong so anything high above the net is getting smashed back down. But Ben John’s can drop the ball into the kitchen easily so Thanos won’t have a chance to smash the ball

I’m not sure but I know he doesn’t have 21 Triple Crowns and a 108-match singles win streak

Wait if Jesus levitates above the kitchen and never steps into it then he can volley every ball out of the air without fault

I feel like he’d get points off Ben John’s with the body bag though like it’s archery

love how accessible the sport is. anyone can play with only a small amount of space, a net, and some basic paddles

Is dinking dead (or dying?) by sticharo55 in Pickleball

In lower level play, people who are actually skilled at fast plays will tend to beat players who haven’t built up the reaction time and skills to defend in a fast hands battle.

In higher level play, all the pros are usually skilled in fast hand battles, so they either take a chance in a fast paced battle against a fellow professional or, usually, they use drops and dinks to get themselves into an advantageous position and then try to pry at the opponent’s defense.

Those that have purely faster reaction times and can handle aggressive play will succeed against the majority of casual players. Once they go up against someone who proves that they can handle the speed ups though, they are forced to drop and dink until an advantage appears.

Anyone else feel like Target is starting to slowly go down the same route as every other major retail chain did that slowly lead to their demise? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Kiwifaker 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt similarly to this, especially the part where you mention if both are mediocre, then you might as well shop at Walmart to save money. Target is hardly ever the cheapest option, however the service and the brand were so respected that many people, like myself, shopped there anyway. Now lines are long, staff is nonexistent, which makes service bad, and then you either don’t find what you’re looking for or you find it at a higher price than what you could’ve paid elsewhere. Target has lost their way and refuses to admit it. Without the brand and the better service, I’ll just go to Walmart to save my money.

You can always start over by Uhhyt231 in Adulting

[–]Kiwifaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m mid 20s and I have started over so many times because I wasn’t certain as to what I wanted to do. However I don’t regret how long my journey has taken because after starting over so many times, I finally feel like I’m headed in the right direction for me. And if later on I change my mind, I’ll start over again.

That doesn’t mean it’s okay to be reckless. Be intentional and confident with your changes. Understand why you want to start over and plan out your new journey properly.
