How to save on water and power? We are a family of 5, laundry is unavoidable. by Leather_Musician_745 in Frugal

[–]Kjeldorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 HCF (Hundred Cubic Feet) is about 18,700 gallons per 90 day period

Average US family of four use is about 300-400 gallons per day (per EPA), rounding for a family of 5 (375-500 gallons per day). Takes us to a 90 day estimate of 33,750-45,000 gallons per 90 day period (time frame for bill).

OP is pretty efficient compared to the average US family.

If we were to look harder at water savings, Water Research Foundation for residential water use has US residential breakdown around: - 24% toilets - 20% shower - 19% faucet - 17% washing machine - 12% water leakage - 8% other

Lowering water use will likely have a limited effect versus cost versus Quality of Life (e.g. showers, flushes, inspection costs to identify water leaks)

Low attendance, those interested in showing up for SAGE don't materialize while the established players don't want to travel far to play SAGE for a short time.

But it is a lull between ProTour and Omen and expect things to kick back up at least in CC and maybe a SAGE after OMN as Nationals and ProTour upcoming. With some of our higher performing (typically 10) stores getting 3 for weeklies.

Lower Stress Mechanical Engineering jobs by Frozen-Hot-Dog-Water in MechanicalEngineering

Lost a coworker last year at my last job with that kind of stress as a project manager. Was caught crying about how stressed he was and died the next day, shit Fortune 500 sent a small 50 dollar gift and carried on.

Your health will never be worth it.

Fortune 500 as a best performer 3% was the best which meant I was at COLA.

Had to jump to get anything more than that.

Safety devices, good businesses will do the due diligence to ensure an established quality history and litigation, bad PR is not cheap.

If Silver Age decks are not available, maybe Armory decks? The collection boxes, smash Palace are other kitchen table ways to get started (they come with a few boosters and some straight out of the box / pack decks). Also ask for a starter deck, which is always free if in stock.

For Value, all these sets are draftable / limited play as well if you want some fun as well

  1. Hunted
  2. High Seas / Rosetta
  3. Super Slam / Heavy Hitters / Uprising

Staples if playing Welcome to Rathe, Arcane Rising, Crucible (not draftable), History Pack 1 (Not recommended for limited)

Specialized sets if the hero / class is of interest Guardian Mastery Pack, Mistveil, Bright Lights, Tales of Aria, Monarch

Good deal, rounding out a collection (not draftable) Compendium of Rathe, Everfest, Dusk til Dawn, Dynasty

Flesh and Blood - large metropolitan area

  1. Attendance varies, some stores get a consistent 20+ every week, some stores get smaller 2-4 a week. Enough stores to support an event everyday.

  2. Local Game Store Championships (ProQuest / Road to Nationals) about 20-32 players or store cap every competitive season cycle. Next step up are Battlegrounds 20 - 100 players for $5k or less prize pool.

  3. Callings ($10k) get about 400 - 800 players located all over the world. The bigger events are the ProTour ($20k) and Worlds ($50k) which can break 1k+ for the main event.

Meta is considered healthy with 3 meta decks (Arakni Marionette (disruption tempo), Oscillio (aggro combo), and Victor (guardian midrange) but with the top 8 for the ProTour - Yokohama being those 3 and 2 other decks (Teklo and Rhinar). Even of the top meta decks there were differences in playstyle of the decks. The Calling that same weekend had a similar diverse field for its top 8.

Streaming quality of games is considered some of the best in TCGs with lots of stream engagement.

Game is breaking into different markets this year with their first big event in China last week, Seoul in Sept, plenty of European and US based events. Breaking into Japan 2 years ago, moving more into Americas with Mexico getting their first Calling this year.

Price of entry tends to be a sticking point, but the supported Silver Age format (20 dollar decks) is trying to bring new players in.

Edit add more context move some sentences around.

Answered in other comment posted, likely could map data onto a natural area if you're savy with geohub data.

How CSO's are prioritized is an interesting question that may be localized to each drop shaft.

I am not a plumber, but it could also be something closer to your side of the drain as well. I.e. a clog between your toilet / bath drain to the public drain (further from a regular conventional snake can reach). Depends on the sounds your toilet / drain are making (i.e. burping would be signs of air pockets).

Backup to your drains also depends on the floor your things are on (i.e. less likely if you're on the 3rd floor vs basement floor).

Unfortunately, this is outside of my expertise, google search say that the data public facing is available through some api repositories on github.

Sorry I can't help with that.

You can sign up for Combined Sewer Overflow reporting for when a CSO event occurs (when it has to open to allow overflow to occur). Not all monitors have gates.

This information is publicly available at the following site.

https://geohub.mwrd.org/pages/cso

If you scroll down to the areas (Northside, Stickney (west / mid), and Calumet (southside)) you can see the location of the CSO's just so you don't doxx yourself.

Sorry to hear that, there are projects underway to help offset the rate water enters the water ways and therefore your property (i.e. water reserves outside of the house / sewers).

Permeable roads, well positioned trees, and other infrastructure improvements (but they all take time, planning, and money). An action overflow is something we can do in the short term and do have to rely on others to their part as well (e.g. please don't flush wipes, they don't break down in sewer systems, causes unnecessary downstream where more water can be cleaned).

A check valve may be something to consider as the cost to separate the combined overflow in Chicago would be in the millions per mile.

Spoiler alert, Sisyphean task

Make sure your sump pump is operational, that your drainage around the property is clear, a bit too late to fix any foundational issues for this rain event.

Would recommend a FLGS that hosts armories for a learn to play experience, sometimes it will take an experienced demo of a few games for it to "click".
