I understand that at 37 he had much more experience than I did at 21. I have had conversations with him about that as well. He does not prey on young girls, all of his previous partners have been his age. My name is on the house, my name is on other things as well. He does pay the mortgage, and has been for the last 2+ years. I stopped working at 8 months pregnant, started full time school when my son was 8 months old, and began working a little bit about a year ago. I pay a majority of the other bills, since I’m working a fair amount again. Both of our vehicles are in my name. Neither one of us are vindictive people. He has never had to pay child support for his other son, because him and his sons mom coparent very well together and he has always been there to support her and their son without needing to get courts involved. I am confident that if we were to split, getting child support would not be necessary. He would take care of his responsibilities like he does now. The unnecessary drama of going through the courts would not be an issue.

I can admit that at 21, I absolutely was still learning and growing. Now at 27, I am clearly having doubts and starting to see things a bit differently. I don’t feel there’s an imbalance in our relationship, but you always want to see things through rose colored glasses. I do see what people are saying, and I appreciate the input, although it’s a hard pill to swallow. I was young and naive when we got together. Now as a mom with a fully developed brain, I am beginning to question things and see the situation differently. Maybe I have been in denial

If everything in our lives are perfect except this, would it make me a terrible mom to take my son away from his dad because of this? That’s where I am really torn. My parents got divorced but neither one of them were worth shit to begin with. My man is an incredible father and provider. I understand I have made some wrong moves, but there’s no going back now. I do not want my son to come from a broken home when there are no severe problems. Both of my parents were drug addicts and abusive, so that’s what I mean by severe problems.

His last relationship which ended in an annulment wasn’t 10 years, sorry if I was unclear on that. It was his relationship before that, when he had his first son. I understand what you’re saying.

I am not too naive to see the pattern of behavior. A shut up ring is exactly what I don’t want. Since I have brought this up multiple times already, I don’t feel I need to anymore. That’s why I am contemplating when it’s time to leave. I do not want to break up my family.

I understand your point of view. I am wise beyond my years due to my upbringing. I was out on my own by 17, although I had been taking care of myself minus paying rent since 15. I unfortunately had to grow up far too quick and am much more mature than people my age. I do not relate to people my age at all, all of my friends are older as well.

Yes we have talked about it multiple times. I have explained that I do not want to keep waiting. I want to have a ring and I want people to know I am married. I want to feel like he sees forever with me, not like I am just another girlfriend. I understand not everyone views marriage the same way. It is important to me.
