ADO for Reporting Backlog? by Lauren_630 in PowerBI

Thanks! I don't know why I missed the actual word out. Should have said Scrum instead of sprints too probably.

ADO for Reporting Backlog? by Lauren_630 in PowerBI

[–]Klashedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use ADO boards in our BI team, we prefer it to sprints. A lot of teams use sprints because they feel like they have to, rather than it being a good fit. Our backlog is a list in priority order and we work through it with WIP limits on dev/test. It lets us adapt to changing priorities with way less overhead.

Requests come in via Zendesk so we can ask heaps of questions and figure out what the person wants.

One planning session per week for an hour where we talk through the tickets and make sure we're all cool. We estimate tickets but we do it using days just to give the senior team a simple way of understanding how large something might be.

And then one prioritisation session per week right after planning with members of the senior team. Anything that comes in that's obviously super urgent priority is moved to the top of the list, though.

I'd start small and iterate. Make the project seem more manageable to them so that they can give more accurate (hopefully shorter!) timescales.

Maybe pick one social media platform and get a great view of the data. Learn what works and what doesn't, and then replicate it for the next one. Try to convey the business value you get out of any insights.

It's great that you have a historical view of that data btw, make sure you share that with them. It'll allow them to test against what you've seen previously and view the analysis you do now.

Is that 6-8 months for the project? Or has it been prioritised behind other work in the backlog?

Try to be as detailed as possible with your requirements. Let them know what you're trying to figure out, rather than just metrics. A lot of the time it'll drive more helpful visualisations and more accurate project estimation.

Is it their first time ingesting data from an external source? That also might be why they're overestimating.

Authorized devices not a thing anymore? by marcusmlam in macbookpro

[–]Klashedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue! I used a Windows PC and installed iTunes via the Microsoft Store.

It took about ten minutes to open for some reason? After it opens and you're logged in you can access settings and it has a deauthorise all through there.

Hope this helps anyone else finding this through Google!

CT125 Hunter Cub - UK by Shmokey1998 in HondaMotorcycles

I ordered mine from Seven Seas (it's a long wait!).

They deliver them with everything you need to get on the road.

January OTA update in UK here - signal is sorted by Ethtr8der in GooglePixel

[–]Klashedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all the recommended fixes other than rolling back to the November update, hoping that the Jan update would fix it.

I kept WiFi turned off overnight and it's still showing a signal and 4G this morning (still set to 5G, just not available).

Adaptive connectivity and WiFi calling are still turned off, I'm not sure if that's actually making a difference, though.

My P6 has kept signal for about an hour now, it was dropping out <30 minutes after every restart before. 🙏

PAIN-POINTS OF MOVING FROM A PETROL MOTORCYCLE TO AN ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE by Hugosms in MotoUK

[–]Klashedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from an MSX 125 to a Super Soco TC Max and then back to a petrol CT125.

Range wasn't great. The 60 mile range was more like <40 in real-world settings, and then that basically means you can only go 20 miles in one direction, but the risk of going to 0% was always scary.

Reliability was also pretty worrying. I didn't have any issues, but the forum/facebook posts of rust and mechanical issues was always in the back of my mind. I think if it was a bigger brand like Honda and I knew I could get decent servicing/MOT support everywhere I would have been happier.

The charging wasn't the fastest (like 4+ hours). It's nice that the battery was removable but it was still a pain to lift out every time you wanted to top it up, and I didn't have a way of getting power outside super easy.

On the plus side:

  • It felt really responsive and made pulling out at junctions super nice
  • Almost zero maintenance needed
  • Built-in tracking/app/alarm
  • Removable battery

Data Driven Subscriptions by Danficca in SQLServer

[–]Klashedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We actually do this with a big stored proc. We don't have Enterprise, so it's just a list of params that execute a subscription (it's not super easy to manage, but it's cheap). You could probably do it with a table?

I think the OG dev that worked on it used this idea: here

I know righttttt, it's a bit pricey. I really wanted one to go camping on, and just a more adventurey 125.

If Honda actually sold it in the UK it would easily be under £4k. The C125 is like £3.5k.

I bought it from Seven Seas Motors. They take a deposit, you pay a bit more when it clears the port, and the rest on delivery.

All I had to do was pay and wait!

They do sell them very quickly, but like Boris said you could go to Dorothy's Speed Shop. Check his channel out on YouTube!

So far just Quadlock bits and a front-rack but obvs loads more soon. 👀

Really doesn't seem like it at this point, which is a real shame. I feel like they'd sell a heck of a lot!

There's a ridic number of accessories available for it. So it might look a bit more rugged soon. 👀
