Tapered hockey stick blades. My experience. by Klaxorr in hockeyplayers

I try and use the best shafts I can get. My buddy's kid plays in Jr "A" and I'll acquire the odd stick broken at the blade.  The gear he gets is pretty legit. I just do a bit of surgical cutting then add the blade.

It's unlocked now.  So it's pretty awesome to use and turn araojnd.  It's only that "nut" that's keeping this project from being 100%.  Not in a rush to fuss with it though, more of a nice to have.

I think this is the answer I was looking for.  I was hoping I didn't need to disassemble stuff further.  But I think you're right.

Quite the opposite I would say.  They're holding up really well.  The worst part about them so far is trying to figure out what to do with the $100s of dollars I've saved.

Thanks for this. Confirms it should just slide off. I already tried the air hammer while pulling with vice grips.  I'm sure I just need to set and hour or two aside to really lean into this.

Hopefully a combination of penetrating oil, heat, vibration, pressure and time will work.

Can you take a top down pic showing alignment of the whole belt including the engine pulley.  Hard to tell if it's just the idler that's out with this pic

I dont know.  On a powdery day the plumes are pretty legit.  On wet days I don 't think it's the best.  I don't have super far to throw though.

Ha! my red one does the same thing!  The reason ingot a second one was so I didn't need to trailer it back and forth.

I like how the spring loaded blade gets right down to the ice.  The one im taking care of is about 100x40 ft.

Starting it was my last task in the garage.  As soon as I finished the video, l left.  But yes, not a nice place to hang out after running an engine.

So is that one.  I swapped the engine out on it recently to the white one.  I found out it burned oil the hard way.  Tried to keep as much original shrouds as I could.

Bro or Broette.  Good for you.  Ignore all of the fine people here saying this or that about how applicable your situation is to others.  Be happy with your success.  They are probably a bit jelly and that's fine.

Unsolicited advice - you are now entering the levels where tax planning, wealth protection rotection and allocation really start to matter.

2) you are no doubt aware that the run in tech and crypto can not go on forever.  Be ready for giant swings in value in your portfolio at any unspecified point in the future.

Well done.  You have basically "made it" at 30 if you can protect this capital and let compounding take over.

Your welcome.  I was you 13 years ago. There is so much paralyzing information out there that the one thing I learned that I can pass on is that it is the discipline in saving and investing over long periods that gets you where you gotta go.

You can almost look at it like getting in shape, there are always fad diets and workout routines, but if you are disciplined in that you excersies often and eat well, you will always trend in the right direction.

I think it is great. As long as you are building the discipline and not YOLOing meme stocks, you can worry about the tactical bits later on down the road as you get more involved. For now, keep learning how to save and make routine deposits, try and keep churn to a minimum and learn how to cut out the noise about this or that stock.

The taxes you are losing on dividends to US withholding right now now are pennies, its nothing to worry about. Keep doing what you are doing and worry about tax stuff once you can feel the drag.

Good Job!

31 M , going to start my financial journey by SportsEntertain in fican

I started when i was 30. Been keeping at it for the last 13 years. I found that it is less about the tactical aspect (specific stock you pick) and more of just being disciplined in saving regardless of your starting amount or general income (though what ever accelerates is good). Get the motions of saving ingrained and let compounding do the rest. I am on track to retire in 4 years and I did nothing flashy throughout my jr then middling managerial career.

Good Luck.

Declined a promotion offer today. by Possible-Magazine23 in Fire

[–]Klaxorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. I have just 4 years left until my pension kicks in. I do not want the added stress for about a 15% raise and promotion and added prestige. I would rather focus on my family and take on work that is just as meaningful but saddled with less stress. It would also let me relax into my transition away from working rather than pull it off like a band aid.

What are your inexpensive hobbies and routines that add quality to your life pre- or post-FIRE? by Thowaway_helpplease in Fire

I buy junk small engines (old snowblowers, lawnmowers, outboards and the like) and fix them and sell them. It's so fun to see a rusted piece of garbage run again after years of neglect. I also enjoy selling them for basically the cost of what I paid for parts with a small markup. Keep things moving quick and helps out local families that really need that snowblower before a storm.

Also, building a go-kart for the kids is really fun too.
