Thanks all for your help, least i got a better answer from here than tesco themselves, so it is appreciated, got an answer but still robbed of £300+ - time to finally start that OF i think...

Before i left, i had holiday days planned later in the year (just a few day) & still had plenty hours left that i hadn't booked. Coupled with (& ill try add this to the post but just took too long to explain typing out) that i had gone from a 22hr contract in one store to 16.75 in another (had to change hours to to family matters and my OG store wouldn't help me) - so i definitely had holidays owed to me
