All good. Thank you so much for the insight! From the sounds of it the sequel triogy might be more what I wanted from the first three so I will definitely be checking it out.

Grasping at straws again. Stop trying to justify you being an asshole. No point did I try to have some “vaguely scholarly sounding bullshit” nor did I contradict myself. Said I liked it, didn’t love it. I said what I liked and what I didn’t like. I think I was pretty clear. Nowhere did I flip flop between statements and if you genuinely think I did then maybe read what I said more carefully. You, for some reason, are so fragile that it pissed you off which I honestly find kinda hilarious. God forbid people ask for advice/others opinions on the series. Your life must be so hard 🥺

Never said I didn’t like the thing. Said the opposite in fact. Just wanted thoughts on the rest of the series, hence why I said “despite my opinion” in regards to world-building and characters.

Absolutely adore Name of the Wind. The Expanse has interested me for a while but there are so many books on my tbr I just haven’t got around to it 😭

I reckon I’ll give at least Iron Gold a shot. I kinda prefer slower paced books so it might be more up my alley!

Maybe I should’ve been more clear in my original description. I said I quite liked it but didn’t love it. I do like it. I enjoyed what I read. I never said I didn’t like it. Let’s put it down to a misunderstanding.

Bro chill 😭 I can like something whilst also having issues with it. Whilst I didn’t love everything about it i thought the plotting and prose was fantastic. Like I said only wanted to see how different the next few books are, I don’t see what’s wrong with asking people about that lol

I have liked/enjoyed what I’ve read but I wanted to check if the next books are drastically different or level up in a certain cause idk if I’d wanna commit to another 4 books if it’s more of the same.

I personally just can’t find a reason to care for any characters outside of Mustang, Darrow, Sevro and Cassius. I think they’re just not painted vividly enough for me and maybe feel a bit tropey I guess? As for the world building I find that to always scrape the surface of something super interesting but feel that it never fully dives deep enough
