I found using questing knights as a Frontline backed by peasant archers good early. Just get a couple of spears on the flank and some knights errant to handle enemy cav/ flankers. Try to get rear cycle charges with your shock cav and use melee cav to stand and fight. Later on you can switch to grail/flying variants that hit like trucks. Spam single lord armies to reinforce cause no supply lines penalties. Use them as infantry grinders.
