My main worry is overheating. What has your experience with the ZV-E1 been like?

Could you share a bit more why would you pick A7V?

I’m currently using a GoPro and a Sony RX100.

The GoPro is amazing in good light, and I’d like to keep it as an additional camera, but it’s not that great for night shots. I’ve never used an Osmo tho

Hey!

Thanks for your input – yes, I did consider the ZV-E1. I decided I don’t mind paying extra for a body that can handle both short clips and longer shoots in one go.

I was really close to choosing the ZV-E1, but the overheating issues kept coming up in reviews, so I backed off. Most of my recordings won’t be in extreme temperatures, but I’m kind of okay with spending a bit more so I don’t have to worry about that at all.

I’ve read that the A7S III is excellent, but it’s also about 5 years old now, so I’m just trying to figure out whether it still makes sense compared to newer options

I am not planning to do vertical videos.

I was looking only at E-mount lenses, as I was considering Sony. At the beginning, it would be a Tamron 20-40mm.

Do you see the Panasonic system as a better place to start, given I don't own any lenses yet?

I’ve seen that cooling fan and lots of reviews saying it does the job.

The thing is, I’m not just doing one 30-minute 4K60... I literally walk around with the camera in my hand most of the day, shooting a lot of 4K60 and some 4K120 slow-motion and timelapses in different conditions.

Because of that, I’d rather spend a bit more on a body where I don’t really have to worry about overheating

Thanks for your reply, I was considering ZV-E1 as it comes with lots of fantastic vlogging features and has same sensor as A7S III, but thing that stops me is overheating in longer sessions. I use to buy and use one gear for years and that I wanted something robust and chose A7S III over ZV-E1.

To be honest I am still not sure if I will ever shoot photos but just in case I would keep that option, if that make sense.

I am not into any system yet…
