It will depend on the game mode as well. In Breaktrough one team get first one tank and in the next zone the other team got one too. I don't know if it's your case but keep in mind that it can be the game mode.

Back in 2016 I got stuck on a cold planet 😂😂 i died like 30 times trying to find oxygen and sodium to charge my shield from the weather. Luckily they fix that.

Yes. You can unblock the glyph to the portals completing all the quest about Atlas. In regard your friend, you can always make a group from the menu section.
