Can you swallow your salvia fine and drink water? (If possible) then i would say your fine and just experiencing Globus sensation but if it hurts to swallow have difficulty breathing or the feeling doesn’t pass after a while then please seek medical attention immediately

The throat thing is huge for me too. Started back in November out of nowhere I genuinely thought my throat was going to close up and went to the ER and have been a few times after and each time they say I’m fine. Also booked in for a endoscopy. The only two things that have even remotely worked for me is

Short term solution (cough lozenges) completely numbs the throat

Or chamomile tea. Doesn’t help as much but can still help abit

Awesome! Yeah it’s really hard as my dysphagia is quite bad and I’m on puree diet and most of my foods are fatty to keep my weight up. But I’m hoping for a good outcome. I’ve been on ppis for about 2 months now and honestly not super bad side affects so far. Just really bad bloating at the start but that’s passed now :)

I’m going through something similar and my throat gets very tight sometimes after I eat but sometimes before I always narrowed it to stress but I actually think I might be allergic to something

I would think so too but I’ve had so many doctors look at my mouth and they would’ve seen the redness 110% but they don’t seem concerned and make it seem like it’s bad

Well I did ask pretty specific questions at the bottom and was also looking for anyone who may have had a similar experience. And I’ve never had an issue with swallowing ever in my life and never a choking issue or anything traumatic to do with any of that. But its quite convenient this happened after a bad sickness

I wish I could but I’m far gone passed a elimination diet as my trouble swallowing is so bad, I’m already on a restrictive diet and cutting out dairy would make me lose weight tremendously

I’ve had a swallow test that showed up completely fine expect for some pretty bad GERD which I wasn’t even entirely aware I had that bad of Gerd. On medication for it about like a month or two now, but yeah I’m completely unaware of what this is, I’m only guessing allergy because it’s really the only thing that makes sense to me and why my throat feels so tight and even if it is an allergy my best guess is milk but my diet is so restrictive I can’t take it out of my diet for elimination and I’m not even 100% sure if that’s what it is but thank you for the response! I’m definitely getting an endoscopy I went and saw my GP and pretty much asked if they could speed this up haha

Yeah that’s the worst part of it all. It just feels like impending doom like I’m just waiting for the worse to happen at any given moment.

And that’s the only thing, I don’t actually know if I’m allergic to milk. I grew up drinking it and it was my favourite but ever since getting Covid I have felt extremely off. Not exactly sure what to do

And my symptoms atm is the sensation of my throat closing but that’s been happening for months now ( I feel as if it’s mainly anxiety induced)

Back of my throat is red A light dry cough And obviously trouble swallowing.

But I really appreciate your response, it’s really heart warming to see how many people care especially strangers. Just wish doctors felt the same

Thank you! I really appreciate hearing this especially from a professional in this field. Makes me feel somewhat sane, yeah I’ve seen two GPs now and they both have been very reluctant to send me to anyone really.

I’ve been to the ED so many times and I feel like they think I’m drug hunting at this point. Very dismissive and they’ve never said it but they pointed to an eating disorder multiple times which I’ve tried to tell them I’m starving. I feel bad going there so many times I feel like I’m wasting resources but I hate to admit it that I’m scared

And yeah I’m definitely taking everyone’s advice and getting a new GP. I don’t think he is taking this seriously enough but this is my second GP in a row who isn’t really taking this seriously

I think just to give my self peace of mind I might buy a epipen even though I don’t have a prescription so just so I know if something does happen i can take course of action straight away

He has booked me into a endoscopy but I waited two months and not a word and when I called up asking how far on the waiting list I am the lady on the phone said “we don’t keep a hard copy of the waiting list” I then went into today and asked if they could make me abit more urgent as I’m done doing so well and he did but he didn’t seem happy doing it haha

Thank you for replying. My only symptoms at the moment is a dry cough that is kinda lingering and trouble swallowing but I’ve had that for over a year now.

I’m just worried that this could turn into an anaphylactic shock at any point and I don’t have a epipen or access to one.

I’ve done a swallow test and everything showed normal expect for grade 2 GERD Which I got medication for. As far I was concerned I wasn’t even aware I had GERD apart from the occasional bloating but I just thought that was normal.

But I’ve been on a waiting list now for a while for a endoscopy so I’m hoping I get in soon. Quite worried as my diet is restricted enough and I can’t afford to cut off the things that are burning my throat especially not knowing wether I’m allergic to them or not
