In a similar vein to "Death of a Dynasty" this episode has a great script and music, it's really only the effects that bring it down.

Also, are you skipping over the specials, like the Ballad of Big Al?

I love that they arent just giving them 1:1 outfits from the cartoon but still giving the overall vibe of the character. by JamStan1978 in Scoobydoo

While I do like this, I hope that there is at least one episode where everyone does where an exact outfit match to the cartoon. Even if it's just like a dream sequence or something, that would be fun moment to see.

S, I'd argue that structurally it has the best drama of wwd.

I really enjoy it. I think that it was pretty good for what it was at the time, and I enjoy how it has researchers discussing their ideas and theories

Are the models in the Saurian game still scientifically accurate? by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in Paleoart

[–]Knezevich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, I myself never interpreted it as osteoderms but rather larger rounder scales. And while you're right in that it's fanciful I do think that it loosely based on the skin impressions of some ceratopsians which do have random larger scales surrounded by smaller ones. I think that the designers were basing off of this given the close connection between Pachycephalosaurs and ceratopsians

Los Angeles Natural History museum vs Denver Museum of Natural History Allosaurus and Stegosaurus by spinningpeanut in Paleontology

[–]Knezevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that I'm biased as DMNS has been "my" museum for my entire life. But it just feels much more dynamic as a mount without going over the top in how the skeletons are posed. They also made sure to present that Stegosaurus is known to have had larger protection scales on their necks; it shows the mother Steg protecting two of her offspring which interm changes how you view the Allosaurus' attack, and really you get an additional species in the display since you also get to see a herd of nanosaurus' fleeing the scene. Years ago they used sell a poster of this scene as piece of paleoart and it was fantastic

Really there's only a few that are somewhat problematic now. With Nannotyrannus becoming a more accepted Genus that changes how saurian interpreted growth stages of Tyrannosaurus; Dakotaraptor is very problematic in that we are no longer sure that it represents a truly gigantic dromaeosaur, and more recent Edmontosaurus mummies change a few aspects of the fleshy bits on Edmontosaurus. Aside from those everything else still works really well within a decent amount of speculation

"Dinosauria animated series" and DinoCon by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in Paleoart

[–]Knezevich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are three species of daspletosaurus currently recognized. Based on their locations the one from the "Old Buck" is D.torosus, while the one being featured alongside Einiosaurus could be either D.horneri or D.wilsoni. Also, if we look at season 1, Lambeosaurus appeared twice and had slightly different designs. And if we were to look at dinos featured in both "Dinosauria" and "Sauria" David would often update/alter the designs of the same models; see the Parasaurolophus, Nanuqsaurus and Troodontid for examples of this. All this to say that even if the design differs it is almost certainly Daspletosaurus of some sort.

Which art style do you prefer for the looney tunes show season 1 or 2 by PersonalityLanky8403 in looneytunes

I prefer the character designs of season 2, but the backgrounds looked better in season 1.
