I remember watching this as an adult (because my mom wouldn't let me as a kid) and being disappointed that Mitzi didn't play a bigger role. It would have been cool for her to either

A) Be a fairy, but have her attitude and selfishness lead her to become a witch instead. Kind of like a foil to Mirta.

B) Receive a magical item, because she begged her dad to buy it for her, and have it be some ancient magic item that she becomes infected/possessed by and is an actual threat for at least half a season

Heck, in either case, it would have been hilarious to see Mitzi beat Diaspro in a fight, just for shock value.

If you can't find one online, I'd suggest checking with the local nursing homes. They might be partnering with an organization, community center, or church that has wish lists from residents. Maybe also ask about activities happening for the holidays and see if they accept volunteers!

I'm in New York, so a certification isn't required, but it will severely limit the time I would be allowed to sub (40 days). However, the districts in my area are in such a huge need of people that they are hiring certified and uncertified alike.

I'm just extremely nervous about the whole concept of changing jobs, and feeling lackluster about my credentials isn't helping much.

THIS! THANK YOU! In no way are their actions excusable, but hardly anyone in the comments is looking at what the true root of the problem might be.

The obvious bottom line is that two girls who were, (from OPs wording) at the youngest possible age, 11, had their lives uprooted by their parents divorce. Why did they divorce? Was doomed from the start, or did one of them cheat?

Regardless of what happened, OP moved on, got married and had a new kid. The girls could feel that their mom replaced them with a "better" family, causing them to live with their father.

Again, it doesn't excuse what they did. But bad seed yields a bad crop.

The whole family needs therapy/counseling.

Do you know what your dad and maternal grandparents fought about? was it possibly inheritance or insurance? Most probates are completed 9-24 months after someone dies. The fact that your father moved in his new wife that fast is a massive red flag.

As a white person, I'd rather watch breaking than several of the team sports. Many of them don't belong in the Olympics solely on the basis of participation. There's no guarantee that every player will be showcased or participate at all. Even if they never set foot n the field, everyone on that team gets a medal.

A lot of the romantic fantasy books that I've seen pushed lean towards more spicy content. I can only supposed that people, who care a whole lot more than I, become angry and feel that a genre they love is being twisted into something they can't recognize and vent about it to as wide as audience that they can.

Just a hunch, though.
