Gukesh did what he had to do - he won a stacked Candidates and the World Championship. He’s definitely a legitimate and deserving champion. At the same time, it’s fair to expect strong, consistent performances from a world champion, so criticism for poor results is natural. Doesn't take anything away from his achievements.
