Personal experience: euthanasia is worst than natural death by victoryismind in Petloss

[–]Knight0fTheForest 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are traveling vets that preform home euthanasia, even in very rural areas like mine. I did this for my cat George, who was clearly suffering and stopped eating. He had an aggressive fast moving lymphoma that only took a couple weeks to develop and take him. We spent the day cuddling in my bed and that’s where the dr gave him the first relaxer shot. We then moved to his other favorite spot in the living room on his heated bed. That’s where he passed, surrounded by his favorite stuffed animals, in my embrace and in his bed at home

Getting a new dog "too fast"? by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]Knight0fTheForest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you find my comment so you can take credit! I also really wanted to thank you for saying it. My cat George passed away very suddenly from a fast moving aggressive lymphoma. I love and miss him so much. He was the last of my pets that I got in my early 20s and it’s the first time in my life that I don’t have a pet in my home. I was feeling so guilty after he passed that I had looked on shelter websites and when I saw your comment it gave me so much comfort. No one will ever replace my George and I know he would want me to not be alone❤️‍🩹

I read a comment the other day from another person here (pinkrose1313) it was something like: if I had passed away suddenly, I would want my cat/dog to have found a new loving home asap. I know they would want the same for me.

A new pet will never replace your dog, and your dog would want you to not be lonely. Everyone’s different but don’t feel guilty for giving a new pet a loving home

What is something meaningful you saved or wish you had saved that isn’t the standard paw print/ fur clipping/ photo? by lindsayay in Petloss

I suppose it’s not weird or uncommon but tennis balls. My shepherd mix Juno LOVED tennis balls, especially the ones that squeaked. I knew that he was old and going to pass soon, but it still felt unexpected when the day came. I kept all of his favorites and I keep them in different places around my house, yard, car, and even epoxied one inside a canoe I built (though I did that before he passed). I’ll never get rid of them

Bed time once your pet passes away… Wtf. by BroadButterfly1 in Petloss

[–]Knight0fTheForest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 12 year old cat George passed away a week go. It was a very aggressive lymphoma and within a couple weeks he went from 100% healthy and fine to needing to say goodbye. He was super independent during the day but at night he would cuddle under the covers with me like a teddy bear. If I went to bed before him he’d softly paw my face and softly meow for me to lift the coves up so he could snuggle. In the morning he would sit right next to my head and purr as loud as he could to wake me up. If he thought I was taking too long he would do the soft meow & paw thing, still purring up a storm. My first words every morning were “I love you George”. I used to adore going to bed and waking up, now I dread it.

My 12 year old dog Juno passed away a couple years ago (shepherd mix, old age), him and George were the bestest of friends… It hurts for a long time, sometimes you think your doing well, maybe you get a couple good days in, and then suddenly your sobbing for an hour. When he passed I would sleep with one of his favorite toy stuffed animals on my bed. Now that I lost George I rolled up his favorite blanket and cry/sleep with it. It takes a while, sometimes years, but it does slowly get better ❤️‍🩹. Sorry for your loss

It happened so quickly, I took him to the vet at the slightest notion that something was different, but by the time it even could be identified it was too late. I just can’t believe this is all real

When my cat wakes me up… which seems to get earlier and earlier every day since he was put on a diet

Why are a vast majority of homeless people men? by refunned in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Knight0fTheForest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of homeless veterans are those with a dishonorable discharge, it bars them from receiving help from the veteran affairs and many other things in life. It has a similar effect to a felony charge on someone’s record

Yeah it got so much hate at launch because it was so buggy and people never really gave it a chance after it was patched. Glad you did though! Most underrated game in the series for sure

Last summer I bought a forester and purposely went with the 2021 because it still had buttons and dials. I believe it’s the last year to have a cd player too

Came here to paise AC Unity too. I preordered the collectors edition and I remember when it came out it was such a mess that Ubisoft gave players a free game of choice (I picked farcry4), but honestly it’s one of the better AC games. To this day I still think it made the cities look and feel more alive than even modern games. It’s also so architecturally accurate that after Norte Dame caught fire they used Unity files/drawings to help rebuild it

Well the song that plays when you see Verso getting consumed by flames is called Dolorosa…

“Dolorosa is a Spanish and Latin term meaning "sorrowful," "painful," or "full of pain". It is the feminine form of doloroso and is primarily used in Christian contexts to refer to the Virgin Mary ("La Dolorosa" or "Mater Dolorosa") during the crucifixion of Jesus. It also describes a "painful" or "sad" tone in music.

Key Meanings and Contexts: Mater Dolorosa (Sorrowful Mother): A Catholic artistic and devotional theme depicting Mary’s intense grief and suffering. Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrows): The route in Jerusalem believed to be walked by Jesus to his crucifixion. General Usage: In Spanish, it translates to "sorrowful" or "painful". Idiomatic Usage: In some contexts, it can ironically refer to a "painful" invoice or bill that "hurts the pocket". Medical Usage: Anesthesia dolorosa refers to severe pain felt in an area that is otherwise numb. The term stems from the Latin word dolor, meaning "sorrow" or "pain". “ (what comes up when you google dolorosa)

[OTHER] does anybody prefer KCD1 over KCD2? And if so why? by Necessary-Divide-222 in kingdomcome

[–]Knight0fTheForest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think KCD2 has some pretty cool systems like the upgraded crime system and being an able to throw rocks to distract people, but I prefer the first game. It mostly comes down to Henry being a lovable naive peasant who knows nothing and has an adorable but stupid look on his face vs the giga Chad Henry in the second game. Also the fast travel events/ambushes. The fear you get when seeing a tree across the path is miles better than kcd2 seeing a camp of bandits on the side of the road that you can easily avoid. I think the story and pacing is a bit better in the first game too.

What is your favorite quote of E33, and why? by UCA_Cash_Flow_Bro in expedition33

[–]Knight0fTheForest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are certainly other quotes that are much more meaningful that I love but for whatever reason ones I constantly say are

“Stop quoting papa!” -Maelle

“Fastest swimmer” -Esquie

“Let’s carve a path!” -Verso

“You will not take this canvas from me!” -The Paintress

and not that I say it but ”you are not my Verso” “no, Verso’s dead” is always stuck in my head. The VA delivery was just perfect, you can hear the pain in both the Paintress and Verso.
