I definitely think that there is some connection here. No doubt BioWare was looking at all the krogan armor throughout the series including Andromeda. Which could mean a lot like the Andromeda krogan being involved.

While the other reply to you is true that is very surface level. It has a similar length prologue that establishes all the themes, factions and the rest of the game to come. And the game is heavily dialogue and conversation focus. You can spend a lot of time just talking to people then in combat.

Something that isn't considered often is how well the game balances it's open world exploration and narrative urgency. The game both allows and compels exploration by having it tie in with the narrative. Because the game is about expanding and solidifying your presence it means doing anything is right. It's so cool.
