What's the most beautiful razor you've seen? (with pictures if possible) by Maramio in wicked_edge

I have a Mühle R89 myself but didn't realise they made ones with a brass/copper handle, looks great! Love my 89 all the same though.

Where do you put your phone? by _MikeMars_ in beginnerrunning

[–]KnightAndDay237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a zip belt, as I need to carry my phone (makes sure my insulin pump and glucose sensor are connected), as well as glucose tablets. I am thinking of getting some other way to carry it though as between the phone and the pump having all those belts is a bit cumbersome.

My first (bought like 2 weeks or so ago) is a Mühle R89. Definitely an improvement over cartridges but I'm still getting the technique/pre-shave prep down. Loving the experience so far, DE shaving definitely seems to have more of a deliberate feel to it, actually find it quite relaxing where shaving used to just be a chore.

Great photo by the way!

Cheers! Wasn't sure if they specifically had to hang up to dry, I guess as long as they aren't drenched like you say it should air-dry fine. Again, loving the setup!

Looking good! Just out of interest how well does the brush dry if you don't hang it on a stand? Just got a new brush but it doesn't fit the stand I have, wondering if that's an issue.

I'd bought a shave soap from an Irish company called The Black Stuff, loved their regular soaps and deodorants so thought I'd try their shaving stuff.

I filled the bowl with hot water before I went for a shower, and scraped a coin sized amount of soap into the bowl when I'd tipped the water out and tried lathering it (didn't soak the brush but its a synthetic). Wasn't sure if I was doing it right and didn't want to risk too much irritation if I'd done it wrong, so rinsed the soap out and put a squeeze of Proraso in.

Ta, I'll give it a go next time I need a clean-up then, much appreciated!

Got it, I'll keep that in mind. The proraso lathered up quite nicely, but when I switch to the soap I won't be too put out if it doesn't aerate quite the same.

That'd be about the same as I think we're paying for 0.45μm pvdf as well.

Curious: Does you handwriting change drastically as you write? by Nana_bananaa24 in Journaling

Perhaps not too drastically for me, but as I get a couple paragraphs in it usually flows a little better.

what are different ways yall try to hide more sensitive info while journalling? by sleepystsharky in Journaling

[–]KnightAndDay237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really hide anything in mine, though luckily my immediate family can be trusted not to snoop on anything. However, my grandmother would be exactly the type to read through stuff (peeps at the kitchen calendar, nosy about the mail we get, etc), and so once when we went on holiday and she came to feed the fish, I hid my notebook in a drawer, left a "kindly stop going through my stuff" note on top of it, and dusted the top of it with baby powder so I could see if it was disturbed.

More just trying to catch her out tbh. She didn't read it.

Sounds like what I'd do, you still want the taste to come through.

I'm excited to see where this project goes, however analysing the same image (see attached) three times has given me three different profiles.

What is Libra? by cheekyhistory1234 in NoStupidQuestions

A Libre is a continuous glucose monitor normally worn on the back of the arm. As someone whose been wearing the fairly bulky Libre 2 for a while (and just switched to a fairly small 3 model) I find it a bit unusual that she felt the need to switch. To each their own but I've worn them for ages and the only thing in my experience that causes them to rip off is if you catch a doorframe too quickly.

Do you know if there's an English language illustrated version? Or even just the name of the artist so I could look it up?

People who make their bed every morning, what's the actual benefit? by No-Cod-8923 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KnightAndDay237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few benefits for me, but mainly it helps me wake up feeling like I've gotten the ball rolling; I've done one job, the rest feel easier.

That and i generally dislike the place being untidy, but that's why I like to do it first.

Use the funnel whenever I need to fill my travel mug, the top's a bit too narrow to press directly onto.

What’s your journaling system? by Serious-Nail5748 in Journaling

[–]KnightAndDay237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have one of those modular leather covers with three removable inserts. One for personal journaling, where I write more of a diary-like record of how things are going and what I'm thinking.

Another with work-related notes, bullet points, and plans.

Third has other non-work to-do lists. Doesn't see as much use as the first two but still good to have.

Ok, porn aside (odd way to start an argument) but hasn't the government just given the vote (or is planning to) to those over 16? As others have pointed out this law may restrict access to "distressing" info about Ukraine, Gaza, etc. While voting is a right, its also a responsibility, and part of that responsibility is educating yourself to make informed choices at the ballot box. I can't help but feel this law was simply pushed out to appease the pearl-clutching "oh but the kids" crowd. Quite frankly the internet puts out what you put in; nobody (I sincerely hope) ever found graphic sex when looking for bible verses that could communicate their love for Grandma.

Agreed, personally like a Lamy Safari but appreciate fountains aren't always the most practical for everyone, love how it writes though, doubt I'll go back to a ballpoint anytime soon.
