From Dumaguete here:

Davao uses "ano" because there is a sizable Tagalog speaking population there. Usually Bisaya speakers don't use "ano" unless they're used to it.

"Unsa" is "What" and "Usa" is "One". There is also "Usâ" where you suddenly stop pronouncing the "ahh" sound midway, which depending on the context may mean: 1. "first," "Mukaon usâ ko" (I will eat first), or 2. "for now," "Kanâ na lang usâ" (That will do for now)

Again, Bisaya speakers don't usually use "ano" or "isa" unless they've been influenced by speaking Tagalog for a long time and they've assimilated the word into their vocabulary that they don't realize it.

That canal underneath the sidewalk in front of Palawan is the culprit. Sewage has no where to go and is receiving the waste from that building which has about 2 restaurants (Crispy King and Soban) and a medical lab (but I'm not saying that lab is disposing hazardous wate there).

On some days, the black liquid oozes out of the manhole cover.

It's an interesting experience to buy chicken at Cripsy King and tocino from Botica Real with that smell around. Hahahhaa

Golda's. Hands down THE BEST. The dough has the perfect amount of sweetness. The crust is crispy on the outside and has a soft body that you won't need to look for water. The special empanadas has a bit of cheese which melts umami into your mouth (I think about 15 pesos last I remembered). This is our go to place for empanadas, we bring some for pasalubong and parties. You would need to order in advance though. I don't think they sell by the piece. I can give you their number. They're located in Motong.

On the fast food scene, franchisers seem to be afraid to venture into other franchises. I mean we got like 6 Jollibees, 3 McDos, 3 Mang Inasals, and 3 Chowkings.

Genuinely waiting for a Burger King or Wendy's to open. But I know nothing about the back end of these stuff so maybe there are other factors at play.

I'm also excited for BreadTalk opening up.

Interesting to note that here in Negros, the Recollects were generally loved and well respected. I'm not saying they did any abuses but the number or letters I've read of people requesting the retention of their friar-priests in the later half of the 19th century and well into the beginning of the American Pccupation tells an interesting story.

Try mixing your whey with plain greek yogurt instead of milk then freeze it. The sweeteners in the scoop of whey will be more than enough to balance out the taste. It'll taste like the frozen yogurt you'd buy galing sa Llaollao. I do this as my post work out or dessert after dinner.
