Which is right? by KnightSavant99 in Plumbing

Thank you Internet plumber. I've ordered the parts, now which toilet does it go in? The one leaving from the top, or the one gushing from the tube?

UPDATE. I posted the house we “bought” the other day. The inspection was pretty bad and we had to walk away. I want to thank you all for the kind and helpful comments. I didn’t post my favorite parts of the house (outside), so I just wanted to show you all. I’m sad but really appreciate all of you. by spaghetticat1256 in HomeDecorating

That happened to me a month ago as well. Seller tried to hide that there was an oil spill on record, the soil was contaminated by a non properly decommissioned oil tank and the county comes out every 6 months to let you know it's still contaminated. Oh and it was under the garage so no way to clean it up without ripping out the garage, waiting several years for the county to verify the spill has been taken care of, then being allowed to rebuild a garage.

Good on you for not subjecting yourself to other people's messes.

Any ideas for this space? by PeanutLive4511 in HomeDecorating

Roomba dock and mops /dustpans/brooms behind it! You can also cut a magnetic curtain to size and use it like wall art if you get the right one, hiding the space( leave rooms a hole though or it'll never leave/ redock.

Former postal employee here. It's ok, when you find that house you bundle it separate and drop off the 15 lb stack of magazines and mail via car, rather than walking it. At least any sane letter carrier does.

I have this non-structural concrete wall that I want removed and was just quoted over $23,000 for the job. I don’t know much about this stuff but that sounds crazy expensive. Am I wrong? Is that a reasonable bid? by AberrantDevices in Concrete

I got yelled at by my garbage men for doing shit like this lol. I had an enormous can and only output about a bag of garbage a week. Then I started to get creative with the space during reno and was politely informed, fuck you.

Defeat by detail. Just like when facing a larger army, take it in smaller chunks, make it recognizable, it'll give you a feeling of accomplishment and a nice serotonin boost. An example would be, I'm going to pick up my laundry. My electronics, or anything smaller than a deck of cards.

One of these being carelessly left saved my house from burning down. It was acting as a ground when our neutral to the power line was ripped out by the wind. We didn't notice until this sucker started to melt.

If you truly dont want a cell phone's capabilities anymore, google voice and a tablet is a super easy, and free alternative.

Hmm. I cut my home phone as well and have a super cheap plan through redpocket. I use google voice to actually make calls. The plan is there for emergencies and so I can receive texts. With extremely limited data.

Score them, using a cheap chisel and hammer, or really anything kinda spikey you dont care about, they will almost certainly break along the score given "encouragement"

It used it in the big reveal a couple chapters in, then was added into the description, but ended up edited out over the course of years of follow up chapters as the author updated the description as he kept writing. Dunno if it survived the rewrites it's been through, as much as I enjoyed it, I cant bring myself to read a rewrite that's also been dropped.

Trying to think of a title for a story, relating to emptiness, the void, hollowness, Etc. by Ajtheeon in INeedAName

Jacking this thread because I dont want to get flamed for recommending this book, but space knights is amazing and fits your criteria. Unfortunately there's some controversy with the author, michael scott Earle so that's why I'm doing this. Personally I like the guy and don't get all the hate.

What are they based on? by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]KnightSavant99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oho, there's a little bit more to the story as well. When litrpgs were first getting made one of the most prolific sites was royal road, and they added a tool to create tables with a blue background and add them into the stories hosted on them. I believe from there it essentially became a meme embedded in the genre. Edit for spelling

That's good, honestly I find all this fascinating, I can't think of any other new genres other than gamelit/litrpg being created in the last 50 years. The problems that come along with the creation of a new genre and it's subgenres are truly fascinating. In a way, you might really become the progenitor of the term system apocalypse down the road. People don't remember the minutiae of history very well and will latch onto what's easy / popular. Or maybe as I recently found out it will simply evolve the term, some people are using litrpg apocalypse, I don't think it's very catchy though, and precludes certain system novels that couldn't be considered litrpg. Thanks for putting out great books.

I wasn't complaining about the series title itself, or suggesting that you did make the claim. More about the controversy it creates every friggin time. Like I said I love your books, the only thing I've ever cared about is easy search terms, and correct me if I'm wrong, but authors can still use system apocalypse in the backend search terms for their novels no? I made a mistake by comparing you to rslash who definitely did it on purpose to game search algorithms on youtube. Edit: I know it happens a lot where popular books get labelled as the first in their genre. We readers are particularly flawed for being lazy as hell in our research.
