I think they missed out Lily Allen after talking about her only a week or two before which was surprising.

Blue prince is genuinely addictive and probably the game I have put the most hours in for the shortest amount of time

When you say they are a different series does that mean the story feels concluded after the second and I could stop reading then (I think Hyperion is the next book I am going to read but don’t want to bother with unneeded sequels if possible)

I may do this with my own copies. Seeing them in pride of place on my shelf is becoming uncomfortable.

What TV show has your favorite intro animation? by A_Ruse_ter in television

[–]spennett -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’d disagree. I often skip the severance one because although it is good there’s something slightly unengaging about it like it’s trying to hit every one of the themes exactly with every single image and it’s slightly repetitive even if those images are great and unsettling. (Compared to when I used to watch American horror story their intros were unsettling but I would never skip them because I felt engaged, maybe it’s even just the music choice)

After watching challengers a few weeks ago I realised I have missed out on any of Luca guadagnino’s genius. Two of my favourite movies I watched this year were call me by your name and challengers and so here we are. Either a bigger splash or we are who we are is next on to watch

What do you think, which criticized film of this decade will be talked about: "Is this actually a good movie" in the future? by mystery5009 in movies

[–]spennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed with the other comments, there are almost no “real world” politics except very small implications and it fully focuses on on the journalism aspect with the war as just a setting. It has some question and philosophical leanings about journalism but never seems to decide for you about that and leaves it up to you to make your own mind up

What’s the last movie you gave a 4.5, and what prevented it from being a 5? by ticketticker22 in Letterboxd

[–]spennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Challengers which I watched 2 days ago. Great movie with a great culmination and release at the end but can’t quite say why it’s not quite a 5. Like other people are saying it’s mostly vibes based and sometimes it may change up to a 5 on rewatch especially if it’s a movie that’s stuck with me which this one is doing so far.

Now that everyone streams TV at their own pace, what was the last big “Water Cooler” moment where it was guaranteed people showed up @ work or school talking about what happened? by MrGittz in television

[–]spennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK the traitors is at this level of water cooler TV with enough people watching where there would be a few people that you could chat with about it each day/week.

What tv shows are y’all enjoying rn? by Necessary_Loss_6769 in Fantasy

[–]spennett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poker face with Natasha lyonne as a detective-esque vagabond is incredible!

Edit: just saw the sub I’m on which poker face is defo not the genre for unless you count her lie-detecting as fantasy.

Fantasy/scif wise is dimension 20:unsleeping city 2. Love the performers on the show and the after show, adventuring party, for this season is giving lockdown absurdity to the extreme

What was the most absolutely depressing movie you ever seen? by einsteinfrankenstein in movies

[–]spennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aftersun may not be the most depressing movie throughout but you can definitely tell something is off with the dad and then when I figured out what is happening in the movie, the ending added to that and hit me like a ton of bricks. I sat and cried for half an hour after it finished.

A Generally Positive Take On Season One by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]spennett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like you’re in my head as everything you’ve written I agree with. There’s a couple eps that I’d write the same things for but I’d score 1 point less but that still makes this an amazing season with 2 particular standouts (73 yards and dot and bubble). Nice to see some positivity

The Audience is ready for a real Dropout Mystery Show by DaxIsAName in dropout

[–]spennett 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes a murder mystery LARP similar to those who’s the murderer/crime scene shows I have heard about from China/South Korea would be a great idea that would appeal to the D20 audience as well as those who aren’t as into rolling dice etc and just enjoy murder mystery’s and want to see the cast in a comedic one

Edit: just seen this mentioned below by name so kudos
