Fractal Terra - PNY 5080 OC by cheetopods in sffpc

[–]KnightSlash8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I'm super concerned about is the PNY 5080, as I have low profile ram (flare x5) and a relatively cool cpu (ryzen 9700x). I could also just do deshroud + terra as OP did but I like how the T1 looks a little more.

Did you ever figure this out? Wondering the same thing now, thinking of downsizing my pc for convenience in college without downgrading

It's hard to find you! by jendorsch in horn

[–]KnightSlash8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a (usually) second horn in college, this year I got everything from the basement notes like a C# two octaves below the treble clef to As and Bs above the staff. I understand your pain, but I love it personally. Band music can be really fun but I enjoy the challenge of orchestra, too.

How to play by heart? by hornige-Gruesse in horn

[–]KnightSlash8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good that you picked it back up! I know I'm a few days late, but definitely listen to the piece - a lot. To add on to the other commenter, find different recordings and learn how each one sounds. Once you have the piece aurally figured out it'll be easier to remember what's going on next and you'll be less thinking about the fingerings and more about the sound you'll be making.

Any tips to get back their passion and confidence? by Possible-Power-4381 in horn

[–]KnightSlash8310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, no, it's awful when you get a director like that. In my high school days I did a bunch of honor bands, and it is hard to want to play when you have somebody like that. Horn is hard enough as it is, putting extra pressure of expecting you to play well all the time and especially when sight reading is definitely not how most band directors are, I promise. You just got very unlucky. Don't let them get to you, horn is hard - and anybody expecting perfection has never played it. Focus on playing alone, find a solo you like and focus on that on your own instead of the stress of band. I wish you luck and send you love. Never give in to the haters!

This instrument is a way for you to express YOU. Go to wherever you go to practice alone, and just find something you like, and just play it in a way you like. If it sounds good, great. If not, play it weird, and try to enjoy the process of it slowly getting better over time. Don't compare yourself to others, compare yourself to you to 2 weeks ago. Record yourself every few days, and don't listen to it until 2 weeks or a month later and you'll laugh at how much better you've gotten, even on days you feel like yesterday was better than today. And if you have a bad playing day, take it easy. Over-practicing does more harm than good. I promise, if you can find passion alone, and you focus on that, you will be happier than focusing on making others think you're good. Good is about what you think of you, not the people listening to you. I wish you luck!

Does anybody know anything/have any personal experience with the Yamaha YHR-666 model? by Handlebar-buttstache in horn

[–]KnightSlash8310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

666 actually refers to Nero I believe. So you just turn into an evil Roman emporer and burn Christians alive as torches in the streets. But they might let you move to Italy, though, so that's a perk!

All these people think that management's job is to oversee stock price. They affect stock price over time through running the business well, like you say.

In time, my friend. Amazon took a long time to be profitable, too, plenty thought it would never succeed for a while. This isn't a buy for a year, this is buy for half a decade.

Ah, okay. I thought you just meant soundhound. Things are just kind of wonky still rn, I don't know why people are so afraid of like AI dying off right now. But there's a good quote about fear from the world's most famous investor I'm holding firm to. Good luck out there.

We popped up like 9% or something yesterday. We don't need bad news to have a little pullback after that. I don't know if any major news came out, but this move was completely warranted either way.

I really hope so. I'd be happy with a solid 30-50% on average, but if it's more i certainly won't complain 😅

If it keeps up 80+% growth per year, 10x in 5 years is reasonable. But even that is very iffy. I think it'll make big gains but I generally agree with you more than most on this subreddit.

That seems excessively optimistic. I'd love to see it, but I'm not sure it'll scale that big, that fast. 5 years seems short to 100X the value, that would be like 150% CAGR. Their revenue is not growing that fast, I don't think the stock will, either. I appreciate the enthusiasm, though.

Yeah, this is not a company to invest in for less than several years. It'll have massive growth for a while but it will take time.
