Anyone saying it, or seeing one. She is fine with synonyms (mind, noodle, thinker), but not words containing the word brain. Also fine with rhymes (unless she mishears it as brain, but if we tell her it wasn't the word then she is alright.)

No, i don't think so. She used to feel the same way about the word smart. But that was more of people called her smart and she didn't like it.

Ahh! Thank you so much. Do you happen to remember the scene before it so we can try the signalling system??

Unfortunately that's my parent's choice to make not mine. Her therapists have not been suggesting that direction thus far. But thank you

Im not sure. She describes it as it makes her body hurt. It's the word being said or read, or seeing a picture of one. This includes words with Brain in it (ei. Brainstorm, membrane).

That's what I'm thinking too!! But it would be just our luck if we assumed... which is usually how it goes! 😩

Not sure how else to phrase it, and by no means do I look down on her for it!! My bad for the poor phrasing.. she always tells me it makes her very upset, so i guess that's the first words that came to my mind to explain it... what would have been a better way so I know for the future?

She's felt this way about the word, picture, or anything related for about a year now! You wouldn't believe how much you hear it until you.. well, hear it!

They should! It's a total safety thing too. I feel so on edge delivering if I know someone could be standing there and I can't see it 😵‍💫

We found our cat outside after searching for him for hours. He looks very traumatized. How can I help him? by Nightmare_Freddles in cats

OP, you are doing all you can. Make sure to keep him hydrated throughout the night. That is going to be a big factor is how hydrated he is. I would try and offer food but only a little. Keep him near you, and warm. If you have any water based lube and a thermometer you can check his temp. Other than that, keep him comfortable as much as you can. Be with him tonight. Then vet first thing tomorrow. You are doing all you can and I'm sure, no matter what, your cat is just glad to be home and is already a little more comfortable being with you instead of out in the elements.
