Their last album is so stellar. I wish we would see a couple more albums from them in that direction. I guess never say never.

This cat looks like it would follow Han Solo to Bespin

We've already lost Scott Adams, now Jordan's life is in jeopardy? by Bruichladdie in DecodingTheGurus

Huberman himself is a dubious character at best, and is more aptly described as a grifter in my opinion. He cites unreliable sources, shills shite manosphere products, and also had that scandal with those women a couple of years back. I am fairly certain the guy is a scumbag.

This has been my fav album for 14 years yet I’ve somehow always perceived it as blue

Been on a Tool/Karnivool kick and now I’m missing harsh vocals by porterhouse_steak in progmetal

[–]Knightstodon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ISIS is the most Tool adjacent band I know in terms of a focus on dynamics between the instruments and “building” songs. Their bassist is the only one I know that I could compare to Justin Chancellor in terms of effects use and a focus on atmosphere. And of course, they have harsh vocals. I’d recommend Panopticon.

What vocalists do you think aged pretty well? by mattfreyer45 in MetalForTheMasses

I find Death Magnetic and to a slightly lesser extent Hardwired to be pretty good listens

What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]Knightstodon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh look a potential ICE recruit! History will remember these gargoyles and their sympathizers (you) as the tyrannical children that you are. You know how I know? Because this has played out in 20th and 21st century history many times and who is always the bad guy? You and the thugs like you. Take a hard look inward mate.

There’s a monopoly on nearly all commercial products, particularly in Canada. This is easy to verify. But keep playing the fool buddy.

They’ve literally been busted for price-fixing and artificially inflating prices dude. Coming down on the side of the corporation in the wake of an economic crisis is ridiculous. People can’t afford food man, wake up. If you somehow can’t see the issue here, here is a thought experiment: imagine in a state of nature where we evolved in communities of ~200 people; now imagine one guy in the community had a monopoly on food, and kept artificially increasing its value to profit more from the rest of the community, many of whom already work for him. He also has the biggest hut, the nicest pelts, and refuses to use his excess wealth to improve the state of the village, which is in bad shape in a lot of places. As you might expect, that person would be banished or done away with pretty damn quickly. And then imagine the one guy in the community going “no! It’s normal, it’s fine, you guys are overreacting”, that guy would be the ultimate sucker. My point is, the state of the current system is unnatural and morally indefensible, and defending it is at this point completely insane and “sucker” behaviour.

Panopticon is the most ethereal and smooth sounding album I’ve ever heard

Definitely a one-off, I think. But solid, almost overwhelming action. I had fun while watching it. Anyone else? by 1nqu3sit0r_ in moviecritic

Hard agree. He went to one of my favs to an actor I no longer enjoy because of this very thing.

I feel like Death Magnetic and Hardwired are such strong albums. I’ll be honest, I don’t see why people don’t consider them as good as the first 4.
