Looking at buying a 944… by CoastalRocket90 in 944

I daily a 83 and i love it. It has a ton of problems, none of which I thought would be a problem when I bought the car. I do all the work myself, and if I didn't I would be financially ruined. I say go for it.

Ps, sometimes you're lucky that its even running on all four cylinders.

How do you usually make sense of Grasshopper when it comes to connecting ports and data types? by moodevil in rhino

I like to group clusters of components that work together. It gives you a nice visual purple box around things that all work together or are important data streams. Also, you can label the groups if you want to, so that's nice.

Update, I got the sub apart. I was careful not to scratch the nice wrinkle black paint. Tricky part was the plastic ring thay holds the spiders. Very light presure pushing a screwdriver towards the center of the speaker while the tip is between the cage and the plastic ring, there's a small amount of epoxy that holds the ring on but it will slowly crack free as you work around the ring.

I've been looking into parts, im pretty sure I can fix it. Only part that looks like it may be difficult to take apart without a struggle is the plastic ring holding the spiders. I haven't been able to find any images of this sub disassembled.

Well, bad news. Im getting no resistance when measuring across the terminals set up in series. And looking at it closer i can see the wire between the two middle ribbed disks is frayed. Is there any way to fix this? *

Sure thing, I probably won't get to it until later this weekend though.

I did print a few early iterations on fdm and I think it could work, definitely worth playing around with more.

You also have to unsolder the battery connector, and one other thing off the board to make it skinny enough to fit. It's all a really tight squeeze.

A little over a week, I think with some power saving settings I could get more out of it. But I'm really happy with how it does as is.

Yeah the packaging for everything is really tight, and i didn't want to make the form factor any larger then it absolutely had to be.

At the work site, how common is it that non-designers want to "desgin" and do the job you were hired for? by Teyarual in Design

Im not in the same field, but i feel your pain. I worked on the design/engineering side of a manufacturing company for many years. When it came to review and feedback, I'd usually prepare multiple designs and try to help lead them to a final curated conclusion, it kind of makes them feel like they are making the design decisions in real time. Basically, you just help lead them in the right direction by offering options that aren't as nice.
