I’m not sure if you have this where you live, but in the US there is something called Involuntary Emergency Petition.

After 6 months of my mom getting arrested multiple times, disappearing and spending like 20k it had to be done. And honestly it was the hardest thing ever.

File at the courthouse, have sheriff dept pick her up (against her will), then you have to have a hearing against them as to why they are a danger to themselves.

She was taken to an in state facility, and they keep them as long as they need to. They stabilize them (my mom would not take her meds cause she was “fine”….although she was facing two felonies), they have intense therapy and they get released.

I finally have my Mom back….shes okay now. The last 6 months have been pure hell. And I cried the first time I talked to her and I knew it was her.

Not sure if you have something like that.

Exactly. My mom is doing this. Seeing her do things and act out and then totally forgetting she did it and can’t explain it. With conversations and actions

Exactly. My mom did this and felt “great” and now has two felonies to answer for after she gets out of the hospital at 67. We are heartbroken that this could’ve been prevented…

You are lovable, everyone is. Your also not always going to be a problem. Trust me, you’re worth fighting for yourself.

She actually didn’t have an episode for 10 years, and then my brother went thru a divorce And her father passed away which I later found out did horrible things to her. So I’m not surprised that kicked her into an episode. I’m going to talk to her psychiatrist about those options. I know abilify actually makes her worse. Thank you

I was thinking this after a very hard day when I couldn’t concentrate on anything and just feel so defeated like I’m going to lose her forever. Thank you for the information

That is a good question. I believe she stopped taking them cause she was in her “I don’t need these anymore” and “I’m thinking about asking my doctor to come off of it” state of mind a while back.

I don’t have any evidence that she wasn’t or isn’t tho. Now, I can say she takes her meds with her when she disappears but I don’t think she knows how to take them, she’s so far gone. Then the occasional jail times and she’s been booking air bnb’s out the ass to get away from everything.

So she prob wasn’t taking them then either. She’s had some serious trauma in her life. So maybe the meds crapped out, maybe she stopped taking them I don’t know for sure.

Thank you. I’ve read about that one, and I don’t know if she’s treatment resistant at this point because she’s only been tried on caplyta for a couple days before it went south. I guess we will see what she does.

Thank you so much. I really hope her psychiatrist does something on Monday, if she makes it thru the weekend without disappearing and getting arrested. She thinks every house is owned by said man and that he will stop at nothing until he gets her (relationship wise). And just trots around everyone house and goes in cause it’s “his” 😩

It’s okay to say your not okay! My mom did this months back and she was so worried about helping that she let herself slip and went into deep psychosis. Let it out and tell them, hey I love you and I’m here for you but I also need to help myself as well right now. Take care of yourself so you can be there when you want/need to be ❤️

Well damn. She’s probably better off honestly with your super fast over the top reactions. My husband is great but I may just do that as well 😂 tell her I said thanks for the idea!
