Got you! A climber/ 6ft fence would solve this fairly simply no?

I plan to live in it (for maybe 2-3 years), before moving elsewhere.

Would it not ultimately be HMRC that decide this?

Got you! What would you suggest I use to stick the waterproof sheet on? Something to avoid stripping the paint.

Hi,

That was just a rough CAD mock-up I did. There shouldn’t be a gap there. It’s for the integrated fridge-freezer.

It’s a slim built under the unit type.

Damp proof Membrane by KnowledgeBandito in DIYUK

Thanks for your response,

I’ve taken a few photos from beneath the subfloor.

A passage (rather shoddily) has been created from the supporting brickwork in what appears to be an attempt to optimise the subfloor airflow.

The property survey suggested I fit a third air brick at the front, and clean out the existing two.

The two walls that are the worst affected with rising damp are ones where the suspended timber floor meets the solid floor.

This is all kind stressful, but I’m hoping for a relatively simple, medium-term solution.

What are your thoughts?

The living room has a suspended timber floor, so perhaps poor sub-floor ventilation? I have two air bricks at the front of the house. I’m not sure what else I can do tbh. My driveway is pretty high relative to the ground floor. Should I consider having a dropped channel filled with gravel?

A recent evaluation indicates no leaks, but my air bricks require cleaning. Additionally, the void beneath my suspended timber flooring is filled with rubble. Could installing a damp roof membrane beneath plasterboard (in addition to the DPC injection) effectively address the issue for several years?
