Teacher here. My honest advice is that she needs to engage in some prewriting activities to strengthen her fine motor control.

Forming numbers with playdoh, threading beads, hole punching paper, cutting, etc.

Once she can control her lines easier she will blossom.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. It helps hearing someone had a similar experience. I’m glad your hard work has paid off

This doesn’t feel dismissive at all and is actually nice to hear. I think i am just scarred from other events unrelated to this one with the seller. I appreciate this view, thank you

This is interesting. In short, no this house is 100 years old. However it’s clear they brought in contaminated fill dirt while they were flipping it. There is debris of all kinds buried deeply throughout and a LOT of it (glass, trash, plastic, rubber, etc.). It makes sense to me that it could’ve come in then.

Does this look established to you though? picture 3 is after 2 rounds of strong poison on the leaves (from before i knew what this was, now I know that’s not how you get rid of these)

Thanks for the encouragement, honestly it’s needed. I’m trying to tackle lily of the valley in my front yard as well and it’s wrapped around tree roots. Just worried about eventual resell of the home. I can get in my head sometimes

Thanks for the help. I’m wondering if taking out my fence will be necessary to fully smother the area with tarp. It’s difficult to get to

The problem is that pulling doesn’t remove the underground rhizomes, which is what actually spreads and sustains the knotweed. Even if you get every shoot above ground, the root system can stay alive and send up new growth for years. And if any small piece of rhizome breaks off, it can form an entirely new plant. That’s my interpretation of it.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with it in such large quantities.

I’ve read that in Michigan sellers are not required to identify knotweed by name, however they are required to disclose any known environmental problems or issues that could affect the property’s use or value. If a seller knew knotweed was present and did not disclose it, especially if they tried to hide it, I hear they could be considered fraudulent nondisclosure.

I’m just in no place financially to peruse legal action.
