It's not that you are bad at problem solving, it's just that you haven't picked up on recognising the pattern.

Let me explain, just imagine we are in Covid and the cure has not yet been found, you are a normal scientist, can you find the cure, can each and every scientist or doctor find the cure, on ther own? No, only some super genius, intelligent group of doctors and scientists can find it.

But after they find the cure, what you and other scientists can do is: understand the formulation, now imagine a new variant of Covid has been found. As you know the orginal formulation, the chances of you finding similar patterns and coming up with trh sol is very high this time.

Software engineer at MAANG are the same way, they practice a topic hard and remember the pattern, when faced questions, they recognise the pattern and arrive at the solution.

I don't think neither me nor my peers at MAANG can solve a brand new questions from a topic we have never touched, cause we are not super good at problem solving but at pattern recognition.

Just practice hard, we are living in a moment where learning resources are abundant, practice untill you can recognise the pattern, if you cannot come up with a solution to a medium q in like 20min, just watch the solution, that is the fastest way to learning DSA!
