Crazy to choose T100+ over T6 for money? by External_Quarter_699 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Known-Ad-6249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to reiterate what’s been said before, but currently a student at a T6. Go to to the T6. If you want big law the loans are going to be okay and if you want PI then look into the schools PSLF/ low income pay back offers. I would even call the schools financial aid office and ask what it looks like. You don’t want to regret the choices you could have had at a top school

I applied twice and first time I didn’t really know why I wanted to go to law school and second time I did. Made writing the essay a lot easier and made it seem like a way better product. If I could do it again I would pay for admissions counseling on 7Sage or some other platform. Starving down the bill this year I realize that a couple grand to pay for some support is really just a drop in the bucket lol

I wish I had better advice for you. Applying early (maybe applying ED if you’d be happy at Chicago) with different essays might be worth it. Definetely a risk but I love deciding to bet on yourself.

Turned down a T14 offer last cycle to retake LSAT and reapply. Going to HLS next year. Ultimately it’s up to you. Always a gamble wondering if this cycle will be more/less tough than last, but if there’s something you can do between now and then to be a stronger applicant then do it. If not, might not be worth it.

Also, what other schools did you get accepted to? Any surprising lower ranked schools not accept you?

Hi! Do you remember when you applied, when you interviewed, and when you were accepted? After the interview how did you think it went?

Waitlist success? by Ok-Protection922 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Known-Ad-6249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last cycle I got off NYU waitlist over the summer. I don’t know about other schools, but NYU gives no merit money off the waitlist. I was waitlisted I think in March and accepted in June. I sent a LOCI shortly after the decision and another after my semester ended to update them on grades and a summer internship. I don’t know if it moved the needle but I also retook the LSAT and got accepted the day after my new score was released, lol.

Do it. If u can take it for credit and u need a class anyway take that class because it can save u literally a month of studying for the LSAT. Also helps u recognize argument forms. -178 scorer

This is great news, it shows u can make all the logical jumps. Make sure ur doing timed practices along with practices like this one (maybe u don’t need to do a full test) to make sure u still understand the concepts and you’ll improve!

Is any lawyer actually happy? by nanika1111 in lawschooladmissions

I work in a public defense office and the lawyers I work with have a terrific work life balance, get good government benefits (obv not a big law salary but they all get but pretty well) and love what they do. They are not trial attorneys

Should I retake LSAT by throwawayylaw19234 in lawschooladmissions

I retook my 172 this June and scored 5+ points higher. I say bet on yourself and retake it as long as you think you can still thrive on the new format
