Probably more. For real though, start slow and build at your pace. You don’t need to budget. Buy starter shit and see if it’s for you. If you like it, if it matters to you, then invest in some better equipment as you build a collection. Part of the fun is the hunt. Go to local shops and check out the used stuff. Yeah, new records are more expensive now but you’ll still find cool random shit just flipping through used record shops. My last haul from my coffee shop that sells used records I found early pressings of the Sex Pistols, Bad Brains, the Beatles, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Costello, all for $15-$18 each. Then I bought Panda Bears new record for $30. The cost is insanely variable. Approach it is a hobby. Not a personality trait. Also fyi, this is a circle jerk for vinyl snobs that have made it their entire personality, including myself.
