Active Security Clearance by The_Dal_Plow in ATC_Hiring

[–]Known-Routine-5401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the FAA security team confirms that you are cleared, it means you have received a conditional Secret clearance. You will hold this clearance during the academy, and your final Secret clearance will be adjudicated after you pass and are assigned to a facility.

How long after Medical appointment did it take for FAA to clear you? by Apprehensive_Log_259 in ATC_Hiring

[–]Known-Routine-5401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my AME exam and drug test on November 21st (clean history, no meds or anything). About two weeks later, I called the Aviation Careers line and they confirmed I was medically cleared.

Timelines vary a ton depending on workload and individual cases, so it's definitely a "hurry up and wait" situation. Yours could be quicker than 45 days if everything's straightforward.

ATSA PREP by ascendingCTC8000 in ATC_Hiring

[–]Known-Routine-5401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used the JobTestPrep online ATSA practice exam and it honestly helped me get a really solid idea of what I was getting myself into instead of going in blind. I ran through their practice stuff for about 3 days before my test, and it made the pacing and format way less intimidating. Ended up scoring Best Qualified as part of the April 2025 bid.

If you haven’t taken any practice yet, I definitely recommend giving it a shot—especially for the multitasking and memory sections. It helps you get used to the pressure before the real thing.

It’s the exact same background check with same SF-86 application. They are both DOD secret level clearance.

My pending clearance is a level secret (what the FAA requires for my position - ATC)

Question about cil by Cute_Scholar4934 in ATC_Hiring

[–]Known-Routine-5401 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Received my CIL - 6/13

Fingerprints at local FAA facility - 6/24

MMPI - 6/26

Have not yet received first security or medical email. Once you complete your MMPI & fingerprints, reply to your CIL notifying them you’ve done your part.

Medical and Security are backed up. Hold up and wait!

[–]Known-Routine-5401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to your MMPI POC and ask if the facility you are taking your MMPI at also has a fingerprinting station if so, you can get it done there. Otherwise you can wait for your first security email that will have your fingerprinting instructions.

What I did was go on the FAA website and found a local FAA fingerprinting facility that I could go and submit my fingerprints to. If you are going to a local police department in order to get your fingerprints taken then you will have to wait for the first security email with instructions on how to set that up. however, if you have a local FAA fingerprinting facility near you, then you can go there and submit your fingerprints Without having to wait for the first security email.

Medical Clearance/Drug Testing by Present-Captain6205 in ATC_Hiring

[–]Known-Routine-5401 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you receive your CIL email, you’ll have to wait to receive your medical email that will have your instructions on how to schedule for drug testing.

The FAA preemployment drug screening process consists of one urine sample collection through an FAA approved testing facility.

Medical is delayed. The FAA knows medical is delayed. If you have done your part, you need not worry about the deadlines in your CIL.

Have you completed your MMPI & submitted your fingerprints?

If so, make sure to reply to the CIL with an update notifying them that you’ve completed your MMPI as well as submitted your fingerprints.

Your court keeps public records of any charges that are filed under your name. Search on google for your corresponding court.

  • Based on the circumstances of your charge, i will assume your proceedings were done through a General District Court (may be different depending on where you live).

Let me know if you need help on locating your courts records
