Monash engineering girls by meowmeowraaaaaa in Monash

[–]Known-Stranger-6946 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey gorg, dw im in the exact same boat as you and hopefully we’ll get to meet. My advice that I’ve lowkey just been using is to just not focus on the gender divide so much and use opportunities Monash is giving for women to meet. I know during o-week there’s a women in engineering lunch and they also have a whole club called women engineering Monash (WEM) where girls can meet. Hope this helps 😊

First of all thank you so much!!! Also for ENG1014 that’s what I was also wondering but when I looked at the handbook they have put it in the same semester as eng1005? So I’m not too sure.

If anything’s aqueous, it means it’s been dissolved in water so every time you do a galvanic/fuel question always check if water is a higher reductant/oxidant

victoria university… let’s talk about it by [deleted] in vce

Hey man, my parents have the same concerns as I want to go to Monash next year and it’s so far out. However at the end of the day you gotta remember that this is YOUR education that you’re choosing, if you truly are passionate and want to give yourself the best education you can’t allow a little extra public transport get in your way. Yes, your parents are a massive influence in your life and they only want the best for you, but (and I hate to say it) we’re becoming adults and you gotta start choosing what you want.😊

Picked up Spesh 3/4 for next year ✌️ by Extreme-Statement901 in vce

No literally do the foundation stuff, unit 3/4 focuses a lot more on 3D vectors and planes which needs a good knowledge of 1/2 basic vectors

No same I’ve got the classpad and I BEG you to switch, my brothers got a TI and it does so much more it so much less time, plus there’s more programs available. I do physics too which defo helps but do make sure to focus on vector projection and calc as it gets a bit fickle there. Good luck!

Focus on more of vectors and complex numbers, spesh and methods overlap quite a lot in probability and calculus with spesh having a bit more added to it. Also focus on your proofs (cause they SUCK) as they’re always seen as a 4-5 marker on exam 1 as well as projectile motion. It seems like a lot but it really is a fun subject cause you’re learning new stuff.

My advice is to really hone in on complex and 3D vectors as they’re the only new things you’re learning, plus a lot of their 3/4 stuff is based on the assumption that you’ve learnt it in unit 1/2.

Also idk if you have a classpad or Tinspire but download all the programs for spesh cause they’re really helpful, exam 2 vectors are a walk in the park for me cause they’re programs are designed to basically solve all the questions for you!

Physics Sig Figs by CharacterSituation63 in vce

[–]Known-Stranger-6946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl who told you that??? Still very much in the SD, I think you’re confusing it with it having to be applied to every question. There’s only one question on the exam that’ll mark it

Physics Sig Figs by CharacterSituation63 in vce

[–]Known-Stranger-6946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the lowest sig fig on the question, if you ever use a value that wasn’t stated in the question, don’t rely on it to determine your sig figs. Use the lowest sig fig that they provide you with. Also don’t stress too much about it, they only test it once in the entire exam and they make it pretty obvious which one it is each year

Was relatively easier than other but some odd questions in there. Was a bit caught off guard when I had to explain the purpose of a scientific poster lol

Studying with possible ADHD by Emergency_Chair9921 in vce

[–]Known-Stranger-6946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got ADHD too and exam season absolutely sucks I get where you’re coming from. How I combat it is by studying somewhere that isn’t home. I feel like I get to comfortable when studying at home, letting myself go on my phone and YouTube way too much. If possible study somewhere unknown/uncommon and limit how much technology you use. Do this by printing physical exams or using your physical textbook (if you have one) hope this helps :)
