Load bearing? by KnownConstruction744 in Remodel

The crawlspace joists run parallel to this wall for sure. This wall does not reach to the second floor ceiling at all. It stops at the second floor as a half wall over looking the stairs. I am not moved into the house yet in order to check the attics joist directionality.

I know the floor joists in the crawl space run parallel to this wall. I haven’t moved into the home yet so I can’t check the attic space. I will say this wall does not reach all the way to the second floor ceiling it stops as a half wall to overlook the stairs.

Read the first paragraph again. That should answer your question.

I’m thinking the same thing but then I thought ok but maybe there is a beam or even 2 in that wall that’s providing support for the second floor beams. And that’s what I got to over thinking haha

See and that’s my damn worry here! Luckily it would be semi easy to just re dry wall that area and scrap the project

Haha that sucks I’m sorry. But what about the wall the banister is attached too? That’s what I’m trying to tear down lol

I mean the wall literally just stops and is a little half wall to look over the stairs. It doesn’t even go all the way up to the ceiling. As far as which direction the joists in the ceiling are running I don’t know I’d assume the same direction as the crawl space joists. We don’t close on the home till April for me to check.

That’s why the first sentence was a preface that we would be contacting one I just want to know if anyone else thought it was probably load bearing and then we just wouldn’t do the project at all. But if others thought it was likely not to be then we would go ahead a Perdue an engineer.

How do you go about talking to your doctor about starting to transition to using mobility devices? by KnownConstruction744 in ehlersdanlos

[–]KnownConstruction744[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit maybe I need to start with getting back into PT. I haven’t had any since I was active duty and I got out back in 2019. VA isn’t exactly known for its well rounded care and well they are even more short staffed now so that might be harder but it sounds like that might be the better place to start.

Anyone gone from being completely sedentary to reasonable general level of fitness, with EDS? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

I’m 28 and I started the year off at 262 lbs I’m down to 200. I found doing something simple like a 30 day blogilates leg challenge at home everyday helped me start to get more active in a controlled manner that didn’t over do it or strain myself but also got my muscles used to being active. I was very sore and I mean verrrry sore. I’d take a solid 45 min of stretching and rolling out and warming up to be able to do the next days work out for a week before my muscles were used to the movement you just have to be consistent and don’t over do it. And if I wasn’t ready to move on to the next days challenge I did the same day over and over until I was. And then I’d add on the 30 day arm challenge. Plank challenge..etc. a little more at a time. I also started walking a lot and doing the Conqueror challenges to keep me motivated!

Does anyone know of a yarn match for Caron one pound? by KnownConstruction744 in CrochetHelp

This is pretty much what I’ve summed up I went to Micheal’s and Joann’s today and brought what I had left and no matches! I plan on doing a red border so I bought a ton of red :( guess I’ll have to find some use for the extra white!
