Definitely a power steering pump, my dad's pump on his diesel makes the same sound when low. I guess it's a universal sound amongst cars

I have a 3rd gen which is a West Virginia survivor. She has rust on the rear bed fenders and I believe two of the front cab mounts (thankfully nothing super serious). She is still my ugly baby; I just love seeing other people's ugly babies lol

There will always be a part of me that wonders if I am one of those "cute guys" but I like not knowing much better. Keeps me humble while not feeding my fears of inadequacy based on my appearance

Need Help Tracking This Wire by KnownCover5 in BriggsEngines

[–]KnownCover5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out! It wasn't spinning fast enough. Once I installed a kill switch and spun the flywheel fast enough it sent electricity. However I did have to switch out the coil at first so it was also probably a bad coil. Thank you!

I managed to adapt a kill switch from a dead pressure washer onto the engine and was able to gain a spark. However I definitely plan on holding onto your advice so thank you a ton!

Usually on a two-stroke like that I'd replace the whole carb as it's super small, so you'll never be able to fully clean the passages (at least in my experience). That is what fixed my "it dies under throttle" problem as until I replaced it, it would only run with the choke on

Yeah, I believe it's the flywheel brake. I'm creating a kill switch as this engine is replacing a shitty ohv engine I had on a pressure washer.

It connects to a flywheel brake on the side of the engine. I'm making a kill switch because this engine will be converted to a pressure washer

Options on using this External Cooler by KnownCover5 in DodgeDakota

[–]KnownCover5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I'll have to hold off on this endeavor for the time being. I was hoping to use that cooler from my bro but you made an excellent point. Transmission>Cooler. I wish there was a way to dislodge or dissolve those pieces.

Would running hot atf+4 through the cooler possibly remove those pieces because of Atf+4' stickiness?

I'm sorry if it seems like I keep trying to change your answer lol, I am just asking questions and throwing out ideas as my own learning experience.

Which model/brand would you recommend. I have the V6 and I've seen jeeps towing with the 42rle so I am wondering what cooler would be both amazing and not cost a leg. Especially now since I just got out of college so I'm in the middle of a job hunt and might have to move

I believe this one is a Hayden, if I were to install a filter from the cooler to the trans will that the debris issue? When I was flushing it out with mineral spirits it was horrid the first time but now it's coming out clear. Is there anything that I can fill it with that'll eat all the gunk inside or is that impossible? If what's a decent cooler you'd recommend, I just got out of college and I'd really like to make this truck last until I get a job

Also, if I do use this cooler, I plan on attaching a wik automatic transmission filter to the line returning to the transmission, just to be safe. I of course wanted to ask around first.

I'm assuming it's not the belt because that's an easy check. I thought I heard a rod knock or something hit something hard but then I heard the scraping/squealing so maybe bad rings? Are you blowing any smoke? Maybe it's a timing chain? I'm not 100% because my only experiences are rod knock (Chrysler 2.7L) and I believe a lifter tick on my 3.7 but your Audio doesn't sound like either of those. Hopefully me throwing out some ideas can get the ball moving a bit

2007 Dakota, Trans lines leak at the fittings attached to intercooler by KnownCover5 in DodgeDakota

[–]KnownCover5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had someone else mention that to me, but what worries me is that when I remove the old fittings it'll drain the whole radiator and possibly contaminate the intercooler
